NIRVANA IN NIRVANA
Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' has been voted the most
popular 'alternative' track of all time, in a poll of around 15,000
people.
The survey, conducted by London's XFM radio station, questioned
thousands of music fans over a two-week period, and was dominated by
Radiohead, who had four entries n the Top 100.
However, Kurt Cobain's tribute to teenage rebellion took the Number
One position, followed by Radiohead's 'Creep', 'I Am The
Resurrection' by The Stone Roses and 'London Calling' by The Clash.
Interestingly, Oasis could muster no better than Number 27,
with 'Champagne Supernova', while new kids on the block, The Strokes,
