SEPT 05 - OASIS BROTHERS REMIND McCARTNEY OF BEATLES
PAUL McCARTNEY thinks LIAM and NOEL GALLAGHER are a modern day version of him
and JOHN LENNON.
The former BEATLE admits he sees elements of his 60s persona in the OASIS
brothers.
It follows Liam naming his son after his musical hero Lennon. McCartney says,
"Some of the Oasis stuff had shades of the Beatles. Liam was John and
it seemed to me Noel was me a bit."
McCartney says that the WONDERWALL hitmakers aren't the only people to remind
him of his heyday.
He continues, "In some ways I see some strands with Sting - certain interests,
certain things.
"Going further back I think Billy Joel was sort of shades of me."
