The bubble burst for three players trying to make the Pacers' roster
on Sunday.

Veteran power forward Michael Smith, rookie shooting guard Carl English
and free agent point guard Omar Cook were released. They were the only
players in camp with non-guaranteed contracts. The roster now stands
at 15, so no more cuts are mandatory before Tuesday's roster deadline,
assuming three players are placed on the injured list.

Cook averaged 15.7 minutes, 3.3 points and 1.5 assists in six preseason
appearances with the Pacers, going 6-of-24 from the field. English also
appeared in six games, averaging 9.0 points and 3.5 points on 6-of-23
shooting. Smith averaged 9.2 minutes, 1.5 points and 1.8 rebounds in
his six games.

Veteran forward Ron Artest missed Sunday's practice at Conseco Fieldhouse
for personal family reasons.

The Pacers open the regular season Wednesday night in Detroit.
