The Pacers have defeated Denver in eight consecutive regular-season
games in Indianapolis. The last time the Nuggets won here was on
March 31, 1995, the last time the Pacers wore retro jerseys. Denver
handled the Pacers easily in two preseason games, however, 100-93
and 109-92.

The Nuggets want to run much more than the Pacers, so tonight's game
will be a test of wills. Denver ranked last in scoring last season
(84.2) but was second in the preseason (97.5) and scored 109 points
in defeating Sacramento on Saturday, more than they scored in any
game last season. "Our transition defense is going to have to be
ready and our execution on offense is going to have to be exceptional,"
Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said.

Pacers fans probably recall Marcus Camby from the 1999 playoffs, when
he was a major contributor to New York's victory in the Eastern
Conference finals. He's been dogged by injuries since, but is healthy
and effective now. He's averaging 5.7 points, 12 rebounds and three
blocks in 25 minutes per game. He had 20 rebounds against San Antonio
in the season opener -- 16 in the first half.

Al Harrington leads all NBA reserves with a 17.3 scoring average and
his 26 points against Milwaukee are the most by any reserve in the
league so far.
