'D' fails Suns against Bulls
Minus Nash, Diaw, Phoenix drops 3rd straight at home

The Suns figured on missing Steve Nash and Boris Diaw offensively but another
poor defensive fourth quarter wound up being just as responsible for
Phoenix's first double-digit loss in 51 games, a 116-103 Sunday home defeat
to Chicago.
太陽發現少了Nash跟Diaw在進攻方面受到很大的影響，但是在防守方面的損失更是難以
想像。差勁的防守直接反映在太陽的戰績上--在開季至今51場比賽以來第一次輸兩位數

With Nash missing his third straight game with an inflamed shoulder and Diaw
missing his first game because of back spasms, Phoenix had its worst shooting
night of the season (40.7 percent) and committed 19 turnovers.

Going without its top two playmakers looked like the last time the Suns saw
the Bulls. Phoenix shot 41.4 percent but escaped with a win on half of the
turnovers Jan. 2 as Kirk Hinrich sat out injured.

1996.

Hinrich scored 29 points on 11-of-16 shooting to lead the Bulls' 50.6
percent-shooting night.

Chicago went from getting outscored by 16 in the third quarter because of 11
turnovers to committing two in the fourth quarter when the Bulls outscored
Phoenix by 18. After giving up 40 fourth-quarter points Friday to Atlanta,
the Suns gave up 37 more in Sunday's fourth to make Phoenix 3-4 since the
17-win streak. Phoenix is 4-11 without Nash since his 2004 return to the Suns.

An 84-79 Suns lead entering the third was wiped away in a hurry, and the Suns
never got it back. Chicago converted every possession into points for the
quarter's first 10 minutes with the exception of two missed layups and a
turnover.

Phoenix's surviving starters could not pick up the slack for Nash and Diaw.
Raja Bell, playing with persistent knee pain that sidelined him nine days
ago, missed 13 of 18 shots. Amaré Stoudemire turned over the ball eight
times. Marion only made four shots but did grab 18 rebounds.
太陽剩下的先發球員沒辦法補上Nash跟Diaw不在的漏洞。Raja Bell帶著這九天來不斷
疼痛的膝蓋上場，但是僅僅繳出了5-18的成績；Stoudemire有8次失誤；Marion僅投進

For a 19-game stretch from Dec. 26 to Jan. 28, the Suns had held every team
to less than 50 percent shooting except one (Memphis). But four of their past
seven foes have hit at least 50 percent, including Chicago. That was despite
Phoenix honing in for a 20-2 run down the stretch of the third.

Off three losses in a row, Chicago scored on every critical possession at the
end of a 12-day road trip.

"It would have been easy for the guys to look forward to coming home and not
bring it, but we brought it," Bulls coach Scott Skiles said.
