The Suns are sluggish, out of sync and barely defeating teams with inferior
talent.
    太陽現在看起來死氣沉沉、攻守失序而且差點連聯盟中的二級球隊都應付不了。

On the other hand, they've won nine of 10 since the All-Star break and are just
a short, disastrous stretch during a game in Philadelphia from their third
double-digit winning streak this season.

It's March, which means basketball fans of all types are projecting postseason
fortunes. But inside US Airways Center the Suns cautiously stick to the rituals
that have helped produce the league's second-best record.

Mike D'Antoni said Sunday, two days after the Suns survived a last-second shot
to hold off New Orleans.

To paraphrase author Madeleine Blaise, with the Suns, confidence is a muscle.
D'Antoni said he is concerned with the team's recent performance, but he sees
no reason why its intensity level won't increase this week, starting with
tonight's home game vs. Houston and ending with the three D's - Dallas, Detroit
and Denver.

He said he's never known the Suns to lack focus. Nor has he witnessed any
chemistry problems in the locker room. He'd like for the Suns to be perfect
every night, but despite the Mavericks' performance in Texas, that's not
possible over an 82-game season.

"You just refocus and regather, and this team always has done that," D'Antoni
said.

Guard Raja Bell conceded the Suns have lost something since Minnesota snapped
its 17-game win streak Jan. 29. They aren't jumping on teams or dominating them
, choosing instead to cruise and survive. Bell pointed out an element that he
thinks often gets overlooked.

The Suns expect nothing less from Houston, rolling under the West's radar at
38-24 going into Sunday's game vs. Orlando. Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady, both
healthy, combine for nearly 50 points per game.
    太陽接下來的對手火箭也絕非泛泛之輩，他們星期天擊敗奧蘭多魔術隊後38勝24敗的
戰績就算在西區也是具有一定的競爭力。更何況健康的MM連線都回來了，他們兩人合計一
場比賽就可以貢獻將近50分。

The Suns have beaten Houston twice this season. A third win could create
momentum going into Wednesday's showdown against Dallas, a team the Suns
haven't beaten since last year's Western Conference finals.
    太陽本季已經兩度擊敗火箭。如果能順利拿下第三勝，對於星期三與小牛攤牌的比賽
將起到相當大的鼓舞作用。太陽自從去年的西區冠軍賽後就不曾擊敗小牛了。

"We need to beat them - not only for our mental state, but just to let them
know we can beat them on their home court," Bell said.
    "我們一定要打敗他們 - 不只為了增加我們的信心，也為了讓他們知道，就算在他們
家裡比賽，我們一樣能強壓地頭蛇，"Bell說。

But those are mind games for a later day. For now, the Suns insist they just
want to improve, especially on defense, where D'Antoni has noticed a recent
lack of "gamesmanship."
    之後幾天還有好幾場這種在精神層面不得不贏的重要比賽。不過當下，太陽只關心自
己有沒有進步，尤其是在防守方面，這是D'Antoni教練最近已經特別提出過，太陽所缺乏
的"制勝關鍵"。

"I believe in our heart, and I believe in our talent," he said. "I don't have a
question we can (win a title)."
    "我相信我們每一個的心，也相信每一個的天份，"他說。"我不認為會有任何一支球隊
能阻止我們拿下今年的總冠軍盃。"
