This was going to be a big night in Phoenix Suns history.

It may be too large of a consolation pill to swallow but the Suns are in a
position tonight that has any team envious unless it is among the NBA's final
four. If Atlanta does not land one of the top three draft picks in the 5:30
p.m. lottery on ESPN, the Hawks will hand their draft slot to the Suns.

The Suns have a 62.2 percent chance of acquiring the pick based on Atlanta's
11.9 percent chance of getting the first pick, 12.6 percent shot at the second
and 13.3 percent likelihood of being third. The pick could fall no lower than
seventh because Atlanta, which sent Phoenix the protected pick in the Joe
Johnson-Boris Diaw 2005 trade, finished with the NBA's fourth-worst record.
因為亞特蘭大老鷹拿到前三順位選秀權的機率分別是11.9%、12.6%及13.3%，所以太陽

of their lower first-round picks or to attempt an unlikely move up.

Phoenix has not been in the lottery business since 2004, when it agreed to
trade its No. 7 pick to Chicago before the draft. The Suns took Luol Deng for
the Bulls but erred in believing Andre Iguodala would not be available and he
went to Philadelphia at No. 9.

If Phoenix gets to pick fourth, fifth, sixth or seventh, the candidate field

Jianlian), two versatile small forwards (Georgetown's Jeff Green and Kansas'
Julian Wright) and North Carolina's Brandan Wright if he slips out of the top
three.

The lottery has 14 ping-pong balls numbered 1 through 14. With 1,001 number
combinations, all but one are assigned to the slots of 14 teams, which are

If Phoenix does not acquire Atlanta's pick tonight, the Hawks' 2008 first-round
choice will go to the Suns regardless of draft order.
樂透會上有14顆標示1到14號的乒乓球。合計有1001種數字組合，除了一種之外會全部
分配給14支包括未能擠進季後賽或自這幾支球隊獲得選秀權的球隊。如果太陽今晚未能要

Stoudemire slept in Saturday and missed the team meeting because of a
misunderstanding, a source said. D'Antoni said he had not talked to Stoudemire
since Saturday but that the meeting was for players to decide playoff shares
and empty lockers. He had told Stoudemire they would do a one-on-one meeting
over dinner.
