Since Raja Bell emerged from minor league basketball's bus rides, laundry
duties and salaries that covered gas money, six years of life in the NBA has
been like the VH-1 show that proclaims each week the Best Week Ever.
    自從辣椒標脫離了小聯盟時期那種每天搭著巴士四處征戰，洗衣煮飯通通自理，微薄
的薪水還要支付油錢的生活後，在NBA的六年間，每一週的生活都像是VH-1音樂電視台的節
目所宣告的那樣 - 每一週都是有史以來最棒的一個禮拜。

But this week really might be the one for Bell.
    但對Bell來說或許這一週才是真正最棒的一個禮拜。

It started Monday with a surprise pre-practice visit at his locker, where Suns
coach Mike D'Antoni told Bell that he made the NBA All-Defensive first team. If
the Suns close out the Lakers in Game 5 on Wednesday, baby boy Bell's delivery
will be induced on Friday to cap a truly special week.
    這個最棒的禮拜由星期一在練習前的驚喜拉開序幕，太陽教練M.D'Antoni告訴Bell說
他入選了NBA年度最佳防守第一隊。如果太陽在星期三的第五場比賽順利解決了洛杉磯湖人
，小辣椒標在星期五將會藉由剖腹生產來到人世間報到的這件事會讓這個禮拜真的變成
Bell終生都難以忘懷的一週。

Considering that Bell used defensive effort just to stick in the league, it was
a weighty compliment to be named to an All-Defensive first team with Kobe
Bryant, Bruce Bowen, Tim Duncan and Marcus Camby.
    考量到辣椒標是藉由打死不退的防守拼勁才得以留在聯盟中，能與Kobe、包叔、叮噹
肯和本季首度榮膺年度最佳防守球員的勉族一同入選年度最佳防守第一隊，對他來說真的
是意義重大。

"I was shook up a little when Mike told me this morning," Bell said. "It's high
praise. For a guy who didn't really know how to play defense and still isn't
the greatest technique-wise, I'm pretty excited.
    "今天早上Mike告訴我這件事時我有點驚訝，"Bell說。"那是極高的榮譽。對於像我這
樣不是真的很懂怎麼去防守而且防守技巧仍不是相當出色的傢伙來說，能入選防守第一隊
，我真的很興奮。"

"I don't even think of myself as a stopper first and foremost or a defender
even. I just look at myself as a guy who goes out and plays hard."

No Suns player had been honored by being named to the All-Defensive first or
second teams since Jason Kidd in 2001, but Shawn Marion figured to be at some
point. He was snubbed again by the coaches, ranking as the sixth forward behind
Duncan, Bowen, second-teamers Tayshaun Prince and Kevin Garnett and fellow "
others receiving votes" forward Shane Battier.
    自'00-'01年球季接生小孩入選年度最佳防守第一隊後，還沒有任何一位太陽球員入選
防守第一或第二隊，雖然這期間Matrix屢次成為遺珠之憾。今年也不例外，他又被諸位參
與投票的教練冷落了，名列前鋒第六位，排在第一隊的叮噹肯、包叔，第二隊的小王子、
KG，以及同樣被其他人認為應該入選的S.Battier之後。

Marion finished fourth in Defensive Player of the Year voting from the media
and now Bell and Marion finished in the top 12 for All-Defensive. With that,
and holding the Lakers to 43 percent shooting in the first round, maybe the
Suns are getting credit for some defense.
    Matrix在由媒體投票的年度最佳防守球員票選中排在第四位，而辣椒標和Matrix在年
度最佳防守球隊的票選中也都排在前12名內。如果再加上太陽在第一輪將湖人的投籃命中
率壓制到只有43%的表現，他們確實應該得到一些在防守方面的讚賞。

"There you go, we're getting there," D'Antoni said. "Our defense last game was
really good. I was really happy with it. Guys were really focused and I thought
that was our best effort defensively."
    "看吧，這就是我們真正的實力，"D'Antoni說。"我們上一場的防守表現真的很出色。
我真的很高興看到球員們拿出這樣的防守拼勁。他們都很專注而我認為那就是我們最強的

Bell's defense on Bryant has been a focal point since last season's tussles.
That has drawn awareness to how Bell makes the league's top scorers
uncomfortable, denying chances to get open and derailing paths to shoot.
    自從上個球季的扭打事件發生後，辣椒標 VS Kobe一直都是眾所注目的焦點。那也讓
大家意識到Bell讓聯盟頂尖得分手感到有如芒刺在背的防守能耐，他不會讓你有空檔出手

"The bar is set so high because he (Bryant) scores 50 and if you hold him to 40
, everybody thinks you did a great job," Bell said. "It's a product of being on
such a good team and having such great defenders behind me. I can't guard a
Kobe Bryant or a Dwyane Wade without four other guys behind me making sure my
back is taken care of. I do my best but the reason those guys have tough nights
is the help I get."
    "那個障礙太高了，因為Kobe得50分有如探囊取物，所以只要你能將他的得分控制到只
有40分，那每個人都會認為你的防守很成功，"Bell說。"這次能入選都是因為我在一支這
麼優秀的球隊而且擁有這麼傑出的防守者在後面掩護我。沒有其他四個隊友的幫助，我根

The Suns still have never had a frontcourt player named to the All-Defensive
first team. Marion, peeved mightily by previous snubs, took this one well and
looked at it as further motivation.
    太陽從來還沒有任何一位前場球員入選過年度最佳防守球隊。Matrix為幾分之差而淪
為遺珠感到懊惱不已，但希望他能把他視為未來更為努力的前進動力。

"Of course, it's tough," said Marion, who did receive five first-team votes. "
We've got a lot of great forwards in this league. We do a lot of things. I'm
still going to go out there and do what I do."
    "當然，要入選是相當不容易的事，"拿到五張第一隊選票的Matrix說。"聯盟中有許多
優秀的前鋒。我們還有很多重要事情要做。雖然沒有入選，我還是會上場認真做我該做的
事。"
