Did Suns Offer Guarantee?

太陽有提供保單嗎？

There are a couple of rumors going around about the Phoenix Suns and
Martynas Andriuskevicius, the very young and very raw center from
Lithuania. The first is the Suns have told Andriuskevicius that if he
is still there at number seven they will choose him. The second is
that Andriuskevicius will get his name taken out of the draft if he
is not a top-five pick this year. Are these all hot air or do they
have some depth?

太陽隊和 Martynas Andriuskevicius (以下簡稱 MA ) 之間有一些謠言。 MA
是個來自 Lithuania ，而且非常年輕與瘦長的中鋒。第一個版本是太陽隊向

It's hard to believe the Suns would have offered such a guarantee.
Andriuskevicius has tremendous potential. He's 7-2, lanky, passes
well, has an okay post game, and can even shoot a bit. That said he
also has very minimal things he could offer an NBA team this season.
He only played on a junior team in Lithuania though he did work out
with international legend Arvydas Sabonis a bit. He physically isn't
ready for NBA life. Most likely whomever chose him would be better
off leaving him in Lithuania for at least another year.

實在很難相信太陽隊會提供這樣一張保單。 MA 有著極優秀的天分----7呎2吋
、瘦長、傳球好、禁區能力還不錯，甚至還有跳投能力。這說明他在今年球季

Is this what the Suns want to spend their pick on? This summer is
pivotal for them and while it is true they need mostly depth at every
position that doesn't mean they can take their lottery pick and
essentially roll it over for at minimum one year. They need a player
who can help them out soon, not possibly maybe someday.

這是太陽隊想要花上自己的選秀權得到的嗎？這個暑假對球隊而言是關鍵，球隊
在每個位置上的需要也相當明確，這不表示太陽隊可以丟出他們的樂透選秀豪賭
一把，全押在一個一年貢獻度的極小值身上。太陽隊需要的是一個可以立即幫助
球隊的球員，不是一個或許某一天可以的可能性。

Better money has the Suns looking at one of the point guards in the
draft, possibly Devin Harris or Ben Gordon if they are still on the
board. Another possibility is trading up. Orlando, Chicago, Washington,
and the LA Clippers have all been rumored to be willing to trade their
draft picks, as is Charlotte. Time will tell as the draft groups at
each team buckle down and figure out their options.

比較好的投資是太陽隊正在注意的控球後衛其中一個，或許是 Devin Harris，或
許是 Ben Gordon ----假如第7還選得到他們的話。另外一個可能性是往上換。魔
術、公牛、巫師和快艇都有謠言說想把他們手上的選秀權交易掉，包括夏落特也

Is there truth to the rumor Andriuskevicius would back out of the draft
if he's not a top-five pick? Very likely. While the Suns may have
offered a deal to pick him, if he pulls out because Phoenix is only the
number seven pick the Suns might very well end up better off.
Andriuskevicius could be a good player someday, but he's just not there
yet and the Suns shouldn't be spending picks on players like that

那謠傳中 MA 假如沒有前五的話就會退出今年選秀就是真的囉？非常可能。雖然
太陽隊可能提出條件交換以選到 MA ，但是如果 MA 因為太陽隊只是第7順位而不
願接受的話，那對太陽隊而言可能會會以更加富有作收。 MA 也許有一天會是個好
球員，但是他現在就是還不到那個程度，而太陽隊不應該把選秀權花在這類形的球
員身上。
