Hornets Ink 2004 Second Round Draft Pick Tim Pickett

The New Orleans Hornets announced that they have signed second round pick
Tim Pickett. Pickett was selected by the Hornets out of Florida State with
the 44th overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft.
"Tim has a great chance to make a strong contribution to our team this
season," said General Manager Allan Bristow. "We were impressed with his
hustle, attitude and athletic ability when we scouted him and when we
had him in for workouts, and those are the qualities that we expect him
to bring to the court in October."
Pickett was named First Team All-ACC and earned ACC All-Defensive Team
honors while averaging 16.5 points and 4.5 rebounds and shooting .407 (110-270)
from three-point range as a senior. He finished his career as Florida State's
all-time leader in three-point fields made per game (3.1) and is 33rd on the
all-time scoring list (1,038 points) despite only playing there two seasons.
Pickett began his career at Daytona Beach Community College in 1999-00 before
going to Indian River Community College in Fort Pierce, Florida.
