[翻譯] Madson building eco-friendly family home

PHILADELPHIA -- Earth Day is April 22, but Ryan Madson's family got started
early.

They are building an eco-friendly home in Chester County, Pa. The renovations
began last year and could be completed in August -- before the end of the
regular season. Madson, who will be a free agent after this year, hopes to
live there awhile.

這項工程去年就開始了 並會在8月時完成

而將在今年球季結束後變成自由球員的咩神當然也希望能在那住上一段時間~


"We did it because it's the right thing to do," Madson said recently. "It
reduces your carbon footprint. Everybody can lower their carbon footprint.
And forget about the carbon footprint for a second -- it saves you money."

咩神說:因為這是好事所以當然要做啊~

他能減少你的碳足跡  每個人都可以!

除了這個 這還能省錢呢~!

The home will include several renovations and innovations: soybean-based
spray-foam insulation, energy-saving lighting, a geothermal heating and
cooling system, high-efficiency windows and doors, radiant-heat flooring,
energy-recovery ventilators, a ground-source heat pump, select harvest wood
and more.

這間房子將會含有幾項創新的東西:大豆製的泡棉隔離牆 (不大會翻= =) 省電燈泡、

以地熱來控制的加熱和冷卻系統、 高效率的門窗(這又是啥= =?)、輻射熱地板

能回收廢氣再利用的的空調設備、新型的地源熱泵系統、並選擇伐木(蛤?) 等等等

The Madsons also left as much of the original house intact as possible to
reduce landfill waste.

咩神一家並把原本的房子盡量整理成最初的樣子，盡可能減少垃圾量

"We're building a house right," Madson said. "Your revolving costs of owning
a house, they're a third of the price. Instead of paying $1,200 a month or
whatever for utilities, they're going to be $400 a month. In the long run,
you're going to save money."

咩神表示:你在考慮擁有一棟房子的費用? 這一棟只要花三分之一的價錢!

跟在外面花美金1200塊的水電費比起來 這一個月只要花400塊

長久下來 這一定能省下一大筆錢!


John Kelly from Orange Energy Solutions has been in charge of the
renovations. He knows the Madson family through his wife, who delivered their
twin sons, Luke and Ryan, in 2006. Madson said Kelly estimated how long it
would take to recover the extra money spent to make the home eco-friendly.

John Kelly是這項工程的負責人，他在2006年就認識了咩神一家。

他並計算了要花多久才能賺回因為蓋綠建築而多花的錢


They knew then it made sense.

而咩神一家則能完全接受這件事

"You could have a house for 50, 60 years," Madson said. "The first five years
you'll pay a little extra, but you save money after that."

咩神說:你能擁有這間房子長達五六十年 雖然前五年會多付一些錢

但之後就能把他賺回來了~

Soybean-based spray-foam 是用沙拉油(大豆油)當材料
合成處裡以後 製作聚氨酯
聚氨酯是非常常見的泡棉材料 可以當隔熱材料 塞在屋頂上和牆壁裡面
高效率門窗 是指高絕熱效率的門窗 比如說窗戶是兩層玻璃裡面充填氙氣
門裡面充填高絕熱效率泡棉或是材料
不知道harvest wood是啥 google大神建議可能是某一種品牌
搞環保的人一般都是建議選用 容易生長 容易種植的樹種
像是竹子一類

上面改裝一堆東西 沒有碰到的東西可能只有地基和樑柱
垃圾量不會少 當然比拆掉一整間房重蓋要少一點

看了這一段就知道是有錢人搞環保
我現在租房子住 居住面積是 1950平方英尺
大概五十四坪 每個月平均水電瓦斯費 兩百美金
不知道怎麼花可以花到一千二
咩神一家綠化以後 花的還是比我們家多

上面列出來的綠化房屋項目 基本上現在一般人 在有生之年都賺不回來
如果沒有政府補貼 那些綠化產品根本賣不出去 因為實在太貴了
高絕熱效率門窗 去年政府補貼五百塊稅金
在賓州用 heat-pump 效率不會好 因為賓州還是冷熱溫差太大
呵呵 咩神一家為環保盡心 值得稱讚
但是不是一般小市民可以玩的起來的東西
