1. Hunter Pence被幹走的電動滑板車在昨天巨人與小熊在AT&T Park比賽的時候被一名不
   具名的人歸還了XD

   The scooter's theft generated attention on social media the last few days.
   Pence said he was stunned -- and a little overwhelmed -- by the support from
   fans to find one of his favorite possessions.
   這事還上了當地媒體社會版，還有眾多球迷的熱情協尋，Pence對事情發展整個嚇到XD

   Pence said he already had ordered a new scooter, so he might put his old one
   up for auction to raise money for charity.
   他說其實已經訂了一台新的來代步，被歸還的這台就拿來公益拍賣（這人真的很nice）

   His teammates teased him in the clubhouse, where cameramen from local news
   stations surrounded the scooter near his locker. Third baseman Pablo Sandova
   hooted and hollered, and closer Sergio Romo joked that the return of Pence's
   scooter was a bigger story than Tim Lincecum throwing five hitless innings
   Wednesday.

   "We can all sleep tonight because he got his scooter back," Giants manager
    Bruce Bochy joked. "I think whoever took it felt the pressure and said,
    `Hey, I'm out of here. I'm getting rid of this thing.' But I know he's go
     a smile on his face now."

2. Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez在1A+丟了3場復健賽的先發，總共只投了9.1局就送出9個BB
   還被打了14支安打、ERA是慘澹的6.75之後，他向球隊說他的手臂感覺沒有力氣...

   現在Gonzalez已經飛來費城找首席隊醫Michael Ciccotti檢查，Amaro說球隊已經改變
   他的投球機制

  （記得去年剛簽下來的時候Amaro還說Gonzalez今年就可以在輪值貢獻，現在感覺他手臂
    根本就是已經整組壞掉了XD）

   the option of walking the red-hot Rockie.

   Adams never blinked. He was going after Tulowitzki.

 “I was actually a little upset he gave me the option to walk Tulo,” Adams
   said. “I’m confident in what I do. I’m not going to back down from anybody
   I ain’t scared. I don’t care who you are. I feel I’m better than the
   person at the plate.”

   原來是Adams自己不聽投手教練的IBB建議而選擇要直接對決兔肉...真是勇猛

   如果他今年真的能健康猛到季末的話，12M/2Y這約也就算值得了，而且明年6M的option

   這篇可以感覺得出來Sandberg是發自內心的在稱讚追追，也可以大概體會為什麼追追在
   費城不管是球隊內部還是球迷心中的地位會遠高於另外幾隻老公仔標的原因

7. 已經很多聲音說要固定讓Ruf上場platoon一壘和左外野，而不是大部分時間都在板凳上

   Ruf needs a regular spot in this Phillies lineup. He's probably never going
   to be a .300 hitter, but he has shown that he is genuinely capable of going
   deep with consistency. There aren't too many guys on this team who can say
   that, especially the leftfielder.
   在這隊上並沒有太多人能比Ruf的表現來的穩定，特別是在左外野的位置

   Whether it's Ruf platooning at first base or left field, he needs some ABs.
   Domonic Brown is hitting .206 this season with a .261 on-base percentage and
   a lower slugging percentage than Ben Revere.

   The thing is, if Ryne Sandberg plans to play Ruf against left-handed starting

   afternoon -- in their next 13 games. Ruf needs to play a handful of games
   anyway.

   地方的Ruf、有選球又有砲瓦的Ruf...真的需要大量的先發機會！


8. Ken Giles在3A出賽8場後，關於是否要現在就拉他上大聯盟的問題再次被提出來討論
   因為這8場他丟了10.2局拿了3次SV、只被打5支安打、送出7次三振、ERA只有0.84，
   唯一美中不足的是他也丟了5個保送

   個人覺得應該再多觀察個15～20局再說...現在應該是Martin而不是他上來的時候


9. 對ROX的這場九局下半逆轉勝是我們本季第一次在星期三贏球，也是本季第一次在打完
   8局之後還落後的情形下逆轉，之前我們在這情形下的戰績是0勝21敗，大聯盟其它球隊
   打完8局還落後時加起來的戰績是64勝591敗，勝率是0.097，而我們在贏了這場之後也
   才是0.045而已

They are 24-31 overall. They were 26-29 at this point last year, when they were
on their way to 89 losses.

I’m typically one to preach patience during a 162-game season because it is
difficult to draw concrete conclusions about a team a little more than two
months into it. I often remind people about the deficits the 2007 and 2008
Phillies overcame to win the National League East: seven down with 17 to play
in 2007 and 3 ½ back with 16 to play in 2008. But those teams did at least one
thing very, very well. Those teams had the best offense in the National League.
They hit the cover off the ball. They also had a very good bullpen down the
stretch in 2007 and a great one throughout 2008. They also played good defense.

我一直是「認為目前也只打兩個月還有時間可以期待反彈」的樂天派，我常提醒人們費城
在07、08年季末演出的大逆轉戲碼，因為那時的費城有好的攻擊、好的牛棚還有好的防守

But the 2014 Phillies don’t do anything well. You can’t say, “This team has
fantastic starting pitching, so if they can just add a bullpen arm and get
Domonic Brown going they should be OK.”

但2014的費城在各方面都很爛，你不該也不會有「這球隊目前先發表現不錯，所以只要再
補牛棚然後等待Domo反彈就可以回到競爭行列」這樣的期待

Brown is hitting .206 with six doubles, one triple, four home runs, 27 RBIs,
15 walks, 36 strikeouts and a .557 OPS through the team’s first 55 games. It
reminds me of Pat Burrell’s 2003 season. Burrell’s struggles were a huge
story that year. Fans wanted him sent to Triple-A, like Brown. I got emails
from people asking about Burrell’s eyesight or other ailments that might be
affecting him at the plate. But through 55 games in 2003, Burrell was hitting
.204 with 13 doubles, one triple, 10 home runs, 25 RBIs, 31 walks, 64
strikeouts and a .751 OPS. Amazing. Burrell’s OPS was nearly 200 points
higher than Brown’s is today.

現在的Domo讓我想到2003年的Pat Burrell，他在那年的前55場也是打得很爛，當時球迷
也像現在這樣喊著要將Burrell下放3A，我還接到許多email來問Burrell的眼睛或是其它
身體狀況有沒有問題，至於當時的Burrell和現在的Domo是誰比較糟糕...

驚人的是...就算當時Burrell一直被K打得如此掙扎，他的OPS依然比現在的Domo高過2成

What is even more amazing? Burrell’s .751 OPS would be fifth among Phillies
everyday players this year. Only Chase Utley (.895), Marlon Byrd (.807),
Carlos Ruiz (.791) and Cody Asche (.771) are higher.

更驚人的是...當時掙扎的Burrell打出來的成績與現在的打線相比...現在也只有4個球員
打得比Burrell還好

Could Brown be sent to the minors? I doubt it. If this team is headed toward
a fire sale, you might want to play Brown, hope he gets hot and make him a
trade candidate along with others.

Domo會被送回3A嗎？我感到懷疑，因為如果球隊要開起拍賣模式的話，一定會讓Domo繼續
上場，賭看看他是否會在交易大限之前回溫，然後趁機把他賣掉。

Why isn’t Ken Giles in the big leagues? I understood why the Phillies didn’t
promote him four, five, six, seven, eight weeks into the season, but I thought
he was getting close. But after this homestand I’m not sure what the rush is.

Why bring him into this environment? It isn’t like he is a savior. It’s not
like this team is one arm away from dominance. You might as well keep him in
Triple-A, continue to develop him at a good pace and bring him up when he is
better prepared. He has eight strikeouts and seven walks in 12 2/3 innings in
Triple-A, compared to 29 strikeouts and five walks in 15 innings in Double-A.
Things haven’t been as easy for him in Triple-A. Not that he isn’t a better
option than some of what is currently in the Phillies’ bullpen, but you don’t
want to bring him up before he is ready, have him get screwed up mentally
and lose him down the road. He is too important.

我可以理解有些人會問為什麼還不叫Ken Giles上來，我想他是接近了，但還不是時候...

這爛隊的洞太多，現在叫Giles上來並沒有什麼意義，就算他丟得很好也無法成為這個到處
都是洞的爛隊的救世主。

既然就算Giles丟得很好也於事無補而且這樣做也存在rush的風險，倒不如讓他在3A繼續丟
現在的他在3A還有很大的進步空間（12.2局裡雖然有8K但也送出7BB）等他真的準備好了再
帶他上來，你不會想在球隊低迷的時候還因為錯誤的決策而折損這位未來的closer...畢竟
他對我們實在太重要！

譯按︰不能同意更多！所以我當初說要上來補牛棚右投位置的應該是Martin...結果居然是
      摳只會丟BB彈的廢物Aumont...只能慶幸還好不是摳Giles

I wonder what Utley would say if the Phillies came to him in July with a trade
proposal?

我想知道如果到7月時球隊跟追追說要交易他，追追是否會同意放棄NTC？

But even if that scenario happens – Ruben Amaro Jr. said recently they have
zero interest in trading Utley and he reiterated that this morning on 94 WIP
calling it a “moot point” — the other issue is the Phillies’ ability to
identify talent in trades.

Can the Phillies’ talent evaluators get quality in return for Cliff Lee,
Cole Hamels, A.J. Burnett, Kyle Kendrick, Jonathan Papelbon, Mike Adams,
Byrd, Antonio Bastardo, etc.? 

雖然無能GM前陣子已經表態不會交易追追，但假使這情況真的發生，我們更該擔心的問題
其實是『無能GM的交易能力』和『無能GM幕僚選人的眼光』是否真能為球隊換回什麼好貨

The Phillies have traded Lee, Hunter Pence, Shane Victorino, Jim Thome, Michael
Young and Joe Blanton in recent years for a group that includes Phillippe Aumont
Tyson Gillies, J.C. Ramirez, Nate Schierholtz, Tommy Joseph, Seth Rosin, Josh
Lindblom, Ethan Martin, Stefan Jarrin, Ryan O’Sullivan, Rob Rasmussen, Kyle
Simon and Gabriel Lino.

我們過去幾年已經賣過Lee、Pence、Victorino、Thome、Young、Blanton，從這6次交易中
拿回一些年輕肉體

Some of those players weren’t going to net blue-chip prospects (Thome, Blanton
and Young) and Joseph and Martin could still develop into something.

當然Thome、Blanton、Young這三次的交易本來就不預期能拿到什麼好貨，而從Victorino
換來的主菜Martin和從Pence換來的主菜Joseph，兩位仍然被寄以希望能在未來帶來貢獻。

造成換回來的是一群雜魚這樣的悲劇是值得開心的事嗎？

If Utley and Rollins play for a few more years with the success they are having
this year they could be Hall of Fame candidates.

那倒不如就留住他們，而且健康的他們如果能在未來幾年繼續複製今年的成功的話，那麼
這兩張球隊的臉就有機會以終身費城的樣子進入名人堂！

“We have quality scouts. We have good people working for us. I’ve got great
advisors,” Amaro said on WIP.

   Brignac suffered a sprained left ankle in Thursday night's game. X-rays were
   negative, but Brignac's ankle was noticeably swollen. He will be re-evaluated
   on Friday morning.


3. J-Ro目前連13場安打，不過奇妙的是這13場每場他都只打出1支安打XD
   上一個有這樣表現的得追溯到2005年的Alex Gonzalez當時的連15場安打（每場1安）


4. NYY & BOS在前幾場比賽裡各有球探來看五月莓，不過我們現在外野人手缺人...而且
   我想他應該也換不到什麼東西回來  ┐(─__─)┌   現在就將就著用吧...


5. 小李將在今天第二次進牛棚投球，上次牛棚全力丟完20顆fastball說感覺不錯沒有痛痛


6. Wacha將跳過星期天四連戰的最後一場先發，改由火球RP Carlos Martinez先發


7. 我們在08年的狀元（第一輪第24順位）Anthony Hewitt（簽約金138萬）在小聯盟打了
   七年，最高卻只到2A層級，前陣子被球隊釋出了，費城狀元墳場又多添一名亡魂...

   下一個我看就是2011年第一輪第39順位的Larry Greene

   還有同樣是08年第一輪的Zach Collier（第34順位）我看也是差不多要像Tyson Gillies
   一樣要從40人名單裡居居了，甚至直接被釋出都有可能XD
