Phillies to interview three candidates for manager's job By MARCUS HAYES The Phillies confirmed yesterday that Don Baylor and Grady Little, as well as already confirmed in-house candidate Charlie Manuel, would be interviewed next week for the manager's post left vacant by the firing Saturday of Larry Bowa. Bowa managed the Phillies for four seasons without a playoff appearance, the last two seasons failing with a franchise-record payroll. Each of the trio scheduled for interviews has managed a team to the postseason once. Baylor, then Manuel, then Little will be interviewed on successive mornings beginning Tuesday. But this is just Part 1 of the interviews regardless of how they go, said general manager Ed Wade. The team will have further interviews - possibly with the likes of Cito Gaston, Jim Leyland, Juan Samuel, John Russell and Willie Randolph - after they return from their organizational meetings Oct.16 to 21 at their minor league complex in Clearwater, Fla., if not during those brainstorming sessions. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.229.183.248
