Report: Trent Plaisted to play in Croatia

The San Antonio Express-News reported last week that Trent Plaisted -- the
Pistons' second-round draft pick in 2008 -- signed to play with BC Zadar in
Croatia.

來自聖安東尼奧的消息說 2008年活塞第二輪選到的Trent Plaisted
已經跟克羅埃西亞共和國的BC Zadar簽約了

Previous reports said the 6-foot-11 center from Brigham Young had signed with
an Italian team (Reggio Emilia), but he was actually negotiating with both
teams.

之前有消息指出這位6-11的中鋒已經跟義大利的隊伍簽約
但事實上他一直有在跟他隊接觸

The Pistons planned to evaluate Plaisted overseas last season, and he signed
with another Italian team. After two games, he suffered a season-ending back
injury.

活塞上季決定把他放洋以評估他的戰力 而他也跟支義大利球隊簽了約
但他雖小朋友 打了兩戰後就因為背傷而整季再見了

He played with the Pistons' summer-league team last month in Las Vegas -- his
first organized basketball since the injury.

他參加了活塞隊上個月在拉斯維加斯的夏季聯盟賽
也是他傷後第一次正式回到球場

He was in shape, but he didn't get much playing time as the Pistons wanted to
get good looks at 2009 draftees Austin Daye, DaJuan Summers and Jonas Jerebko
in the frontcourt. Plaisted, 22, started three games and played in all five.
He averaged 3.0 points and 2.8 rebounds in 11.4 minutes.

Since he missed most of last season, the Pistons would like to evaluate him
over a full year as they still hold his draft rights.

看在他上季幾乎沒打球的份上
活塞傾向讓他放洋一個完整球季並且繼續握有跟他簽約的權利

At BYU, Plaisted averaged 15.6 points and 7.7 rebounds in his junior year
before entering the NBA draft.

在大三時 他平均每場可拿15.6分 7.7籃板

Pistons fans might not believe it, but one person thinks Knicks center Darko
Milicic still can become a star in the NBA.

活塞球迷大概不相信小米粒了
但有一個人仍相信轉到尼克的他可以成為NBA的一顆星星 (流星也是星啊 = =)


In comments to the New York Post, Knicks president Donnie Walsh said: "He was
a very skilled player when he was drafted. I think the thing that's held him
back is he's been thought of as a guy that has to play with his back to the
basket. And everywhere he's been, people have tried to do that."

紐約郵報說 尼克總裁Donnie Walsh認為小米粒是以技巧取勝的球員
他之所以笨笨的是因為大家都希望他用背對籃框的方式去進攻

In 2003, the Pistons selected Milicic with the second overall pick in one of
the greatest drafts ever -- behind LeBron James and ahead of Carmelo Anthony.

第一順位是大帝 第三順位是甜瓜 這屆是聯盟史上的黃金梯隊之一

Milicic, 24, spent 2 1/2 seasons on the Pistons' bench before being shipped
to the Orlando Magic. He spent the past two seasons with the Memphis
Grizzlies before being traded this summer to the Knicks.

After six seasons, the term "bust" often is used to describe the 7-footer.

But Walsh seems to think that will change in New York.

"The way (coach) Mike (D'Antoni) plays -- the fact that he's a skilled,
fairly athletic, long big man who can run the floor and can dribble the ball,
shoot the ball, pass the ball -- he might fit into this system better. That's
what I'm hoping."

"他有技巧,運動條件佳,又長又大(不是啦 這我亂翻的XD)
 又是個可以帶球並且跑動的長人,有投籃射程又能傳球,他應該很適合冷笑話的體系"

Walsh was asked if he could think of another player who was greatly helped by
a change of scenery.

"(Steve) Nash to a degree," Walsh said of the Suns point guard. "He was a
very good player in Dallas and became the MVP of the league in Phoenix."

Walsh也被問到他有沒有認為誰最能幫助尼克改變現狀
"Nash有這能力,他在小牛時就已經是很棒的選手,而且在太陽時還拿下了MVP"
