PHOENIX -- When a major change is made, rarely is there a
flawless transition.

當巨大改變已經確實發生，很少看到是完全沒有陣痛期。


The Detroit Pistons know this all too well. Ever since
Allen Iverson arrived in Detroit, the team has had to
work through the ups and downs of the trade, as well
as incorporate a new face into its lineup.

活塞知道所有事都很棒，自從AI來到底特律，整個隊伍由上而下
都為了使球隊的新面孔能更融入作了些準備。


"It's a work in progress," said Joe Dumars, Detroit's
president of basketball operations. "Ten days, two
weeks, it's really not enough time to make a full
evaluation. But we do like the direction we're headed."

After losing the first two games Iverson played in
after the trade, the Pistons reeled off wins in three
of the next four.

Iverson acknowledges when he first arrived, he was
focused on doing his best to fit in with what the
Pistons were doing already.

But Dumars, coach Michael Curry and Iverson's new
teammates urged him to not worry about that."They
kept telling me to just play the way I have all
these years, and just be aggressive," Iverson said.

After averaging 17 points in his first two games
with Detroit, Iverson has looked more like his
usual self in the four most recen games. He is
averaging 21.8 points per game, about six points
shy of his career scoring average of 27.6.

加入活塞後的前兩場比賽，AI平均得了17分。在近四場比賽中才
慢慢像是我們過去所熟悉的AI。他平均得了21.8分，比生涯平均
27.6分還低了6分。太害羞了啦~


"The guys are getting more used to him every game," Dumars said.
老杜： 隨著比賽，大家都漸漸地更熟悉他了。

Although Pistons guard Richard Hamilton played well
(19 points, 7-for-13 shooting) in Detroit's 104-86
loss at Phoenix on Sunday, his numbers have been
down since Iverson's arrival.

雖然在週日以104-86輸給了太陽，但RIP其實打的不錯(19分，7-13
的命中率)。在AI剛加入活塞的這幾場比賽，RIP的數據其實並不是
很好看。


In the six games he has played with Iverson, Hamilton has
averaged 16.6 points while shooting 35.4 percent from the
field. Hamilton had never averaged fewer than 17 points per
game with Detroit, and his worst shooting percentage in a
season is 42 percent, which he did as a rookie in Washington.

在與AI共事的過去六場比賽，RIP平均得分16.6，命中率35.4%。RIP
在活塞生涯當中，他的平均得分從未低於17分。而且即使是他在華盛

"It's all about timing right now," Hamilton said. "Anytime
you play with a different point guard ... with Chauncey,
I knew what he was going to do every time up the court. He
knew when I was going to come off a screen. He knew where
to put the ball at. Now I have to learn (Iverson), just
like I learned Chauncey when I first came here."

每當你和不同的PG合作…痾~像是槍蜥，我總是能知道他接下來在球場
上想做什麼。他也知道我啥時可以跑出合適的空檔，他知道他該怎麼
傳給我。而現在，我得多學些和AI的合作方式，就像當初我剛來到活
塞和槍蜥合作那樣。


Dumars said he is not surprised to see Hamilton struggle
with the adjustment more than some of the other players.

老杜說他一點都不驚訝，RIP會比其他隊友陷入更久的磨合陣痛期。


"A lot of Rip's game is timing, coming off screens and all,"
Dumars said. "You would expect that his adjustment is probably
going to be longer than most guys because so much of his game
is based on timing"

老杜說：RIP的攻擊模式大多數都是空手持球的持續跑位，他需要的是
精確timing的傳球供輸。你可以預期比起其他隊友而言，他確實需要

In addition to Hamilton, the trade has had a major impact
on Detroit's frontcourt depth. Without Antonio McDyess,
Rasheed Wallace has been playing more than ever as a Piston.

在沒有袋鼠的日子，溪蛙得持續上場更多時間了。

McDyess, who is a free agent after agreeing to a buyout with
Denver reportedly worth about $6 million, is expected to
re-sign with the Piston next month.
在金塊買斷後，預期袋鼠將會在下個月重返榮耀。


"We'd love to have him back," Dumars said.

In the meantime, Dumars has no plans of adding a player or two to Detroit's
roster, which consists of 13 players.

同時，老杜不考慮對目前的13人陣容進行更動。


"As soon as we got to 13, all the agents started calling right away," Dumars
said. "But no, we said we were going to wait and see how things would unfold
with the trade for a while before we decide if we need to do something."

老杜：當所有人都是朝著正確的方向前進，沒有必要做出不必要的改變。但我們說過，在我
們需要做出其他決定之前，我們會持續對這筆交易保持停、看、聽。
