Brown gets call to guard Rockets' Yao

When faced with a 7-foot-6, 310-pound center with a good shooting touch and
surprising agility, Pistons coach Michael Curry didn't think long on what he
would do to counter.

Curry said after Saturday's practice that he is turning to his biggest Piston
-- 6-11,
270-pound Kwame Brown -- for a rare start tonight when the Pistons host the
Houston Rockets and All-Star center Yao Ming.

forward with Rasheed Wallace at center most games.

Yao, averaging 19.9 points and 9.6 rebounds, would be a tough matchup for
Brown, who has sat out 13 games this season.

"Hopefully, I just stay ready," Brown said. "There's no substitute for playing,

inconsistent," Curry said Saturday. "We just got to play better."
