‧ What are you going to be doing this year? Jack of all trades, master of
none. My role this year will probably be more helping the young guys
understand the type of basketball players and team we want to have and to
help develop those guys. That will be probably my biggest role. Player/coach
type guy. Player/coach, coach/player, whichever way you want to arrange it.
More coach. I'd prefer that, but probably not.
Player/coach, coach/player,隨你從哪個角度去看。
‧ On Rodney Stuckey: I think the first month will be like a whirlwind. You
get your feet wet and you see how fast-paced the game is and how different it
really is. I like him. I like all of the young kids we have. They're
talented, and I think they're willing to learn.
Rodney Stuckey
‧ Why weren't a lot of changes made, and can this team keep climbing? One
thing I think you don't have to worry about Joe (Dumars) doing is panicking,
and I think a lot of people would overreact. Joe, of course, didn't do that,
which was the right move. For two years in a row, we felt that we should have
been contending for the title, and rightfully so, we could have if certain
things had happened. But it didn't, and sometimes you have to go through
things like that to get back where you think you belong. San Antonio went
through the same thing. They didn't blow their team up, and they ended up
coming back winning a title.
‧ On the Cleveland-Detroit series: It didn't turn out the way we wanted it
to. Of course, we all were crushed and upset and all that type of thing. ...
They won, they were the better team.
