AUBURN HILLS -- As last June's NBA draft drew nearer, the Detroit Pistons were
a nervous bunch.
    奧本山訊 -- 當去年六月的NBA選秀會日期逐漸接近時，底特律活塞隊顯得坐立難安。

Word had leaked that Rodney Stuckey from tiny Eastern Washington was the player
they coveted with their first-round pick.
    因為出身小學校東華盛頓大學的Rodney Stuckey是他們在選秀首輪頭號目標的消息走
漏了。

"That was probably the worst kept secret, that that was the guy we wanted in
the draft," said Pistons coach Flip Saunders. "We thought maybe somebody else
might go and grab him, and we were lucky that they didn't. I think there will
be some people that wish they had."

Especially at the rate that the 6-foot-5 guard's game has improved since he
returned to action following a left (non-shooting) broken left hand injury.

When they drafted Stuckey, the Pistons said they had every intention to play
him significant minutes.

That's exactly what the rookie has received.

Stuckey came into Saturday's game against Boston averaging 16.3 minutes per
game. But in Detroit's previous three games, Stuckey's playing time was up to
22 minutes per game. Only Jarvis Hayes and Jason Maxiell average more minutes
off the bench among active reserve players, than Stuckey.

said.

While Chauncey Billups' strength is shooting the ball from the perimeter,
Stuckey's greatest asset has been his ability to get into the lane and finish
plays -- a trait no other Piston does nearly as effectively.

"He's trying to score," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. "He's an aggressive
point guard."

And lately, Stuckey has also shown the potential to be a very good defender for
Detroit.

better on offense, but defensively he's getting two steals a game in 20 minutes
. And he's got great, great instincts for the ball. Like I said, it's going to

Stuckey's most meaningful play of the season was Friday night at Toronto when
he came off the bench to spark Detroit's fourth-quarter surge that factored
heavily into the Pistons' 101-85 win.

特律在第四節打出一波高潮，那是活塞能以101比85獲勝的關鍵因素之一。

In that game, Stuckey had eight points with six assists to go along with two
steals. On his last steal, Stuckey had an uncontested shot at the basket.
Instead of dunking it, he decided to lay it in. His teammates have been riding
him and fellow rookie Arron Afflalo all season about dunking, something neither
player has done thus far.

However, Stuckey wasn't nearly as effective in Saturday's 92-85 loss to Boston.

While Stuckey's numbers looked decent -- six points, three rebounds and a steal
-- he struggled at times initiating Detroit's offense. During one possession
when he was at the point, Stuckey kept his dribble for 19 of the shot clock's
24 seconds, before he made a pass.

"Like I said, it's going to be a work in progress for him," Saunders said. "
But he's doing a great job right now."

Maxiell on bench late

Jason Maxiell was one of the bright spots for Detroit, scoring 13 points to go
with four rebounds. However, he was on the bench for the final 4:28 of the game
and was replaced by an ineffective Antonio McDyess, who had more fouls (six)
than points (four).
    J-Max是這場比賽活塞陣中少數表現亮眼的球員之一，他攻得13分並抓下4個籃板。不
過在最後4分28秒他被擺在板凳上，老桑還是選擇讓本場犯規(6犯)比得分(4分)多的袋鼠上
場。

"He (Maxiell) played so many minutes early and he was so tired," Saunders said.
"He was having problems getting up in that fourth quarter. For him to play the
amount of minutes he played early took something out of him."

After the game, Maxiell said he felt fine. "But Antonio's a starter. He's a vet
. I understand that."

Where's Amir?
    Amir在哪？

The Pistons still are high on Amir Johnson even as the third-year forward
spends most of his time still saddled on the Pistons' bench.
    儘管三年級前鋒Amir Johnson大部分的時間還是在板凳席上度過，活塞還是對他保有
高度的期待。

"You want to play him some, but those guys are playing so well," Pistons coach
Flip Saunders said.

Especially Maxiell, who has become Detroit's first big man off the bench.
    特別是已經成為底特律第一替補大個的J-Max。

Maxiell's size makes it almost impossible for the Pistons to play him anywhere
but power forward. And while Johnson has the size (6-foot-9) to play power
forward or center, Saunders is leery of putting him in games where he has to
guard opposing centers.
    受限於身高J-Max，活塞幾乎不可能要求他去打大前鋒以外的位置。而因為6呎9吋高的
Johnson足以擔任大前鋒或中鋒，機靈的老桑在球賽中會讓他去防守對方的中鋒。

"Because Maxie doesn't have the length, it's tough sometimes to play (them
together)," Saunders said. "Dice and Sheed have at least played center. It's
tough to not have one of those guys out there because of their length."

season the Pistons shot less than 40 percent. ...Boston starting point guard
Rajon Rondo had zero assists. ... With the win, Boston snapped Detroit's nine
game winning streak over the Celtics that had dated back to the 2004-2005
season.
    底特律投籃命中率只有39.2%。這僅是活塞本季第五場投籃命中率未滿四成的比賽。
