Pistons need love from Detroit's fans
活塞需要底特律球迷的愛

AUBURN HILLS --The expectations are so high now that people have been
blinded. So much so, they don't even know what they're watching.
現在大家的期望非常高，所以也變得盲目。期望高到他們甚至不知道他們看到了
什麼。

The knee-jerk reaction, whenever the Pistons are mentioned, is to always
think another team is better and en route to winning the championship.
每次當活塞被提到時的直覺反應，總是會想到有另一個球隊打得（比活塞）更好，
正往贏得總冠軍的路途上邁進。

The Piston-hating in Motown has to stop.
在汽車城的活塞討厭風氣得停止了。

Fans here, for whatever reason, don't love this team unconditionally. And
that's wrong. Not only does this team mirror this city better than any other
professional squad here, but this team also has done nothing but make fans
proud. Most NBA fans would die to have a team that's in the championship mix
every year.
在這裡的球迷，不管什麼原因，不會無條件地愛上這個球隊的。這是不對的。不只
是因為這個球隊比其他底特律的職業球隊更能反映這個城市，這個球隊還讓球迷感
到驕傲。大部分的NBA球迷都會愛死一支每年打進冠軍賽的球隊的。

Nonetheless, Detroit fans are both spoiled and irrational.
但是，活塞迷都被寵壞且變得荒謬。

Shame on you. Yeah, you.

Others get more love
其他球隊得到更多的愛

For whatever reason, fans here will give the Lions the benefit of the doubt
any chance they get. They were duped this season after the Lions got off to a
6-2 start.
不知道是基於什麼原因，這裡的球迷無怨無侮地支持獅子隊。在獅子六勝二負的開
季之後他們被愚弄了。

The Tigers get the royal treatment even though they lost to an inferior
Cardinals team in the World Series in 2006 and failed to make the playoffs
last season. And the Wings haven't brought a Cup home since 2002.
老虎隊即便在2006世界大戰輸了較差的紅雀隊，上季還沒打進季後賽，他們還是得
到王室般的待遇。而紅翼自從2002年以後還沒拿過冠軍回家。

It's time for Detroit fans to recognize that the love of this city's life is
the Pistons and you shouldn't take them for granted another minute.
是活塞迷該體認這個城市生活之愛是活塞的時候了，你不該再有一分鐘把這個球隊
的成就視為理所當然。

The Pistons showed you again why they are the best team in town Friday night.
It didn't matter if Brandon Roy played or not, he didn't. The Pistons worked
over the Portland Trail Blazers like a burger and fries, winning 91-82 before
a sellout crowd at The Palace.
活塞在星期五晚上又再次告訴你為什麼他們是這城市裡最棒的球隊。不管Brandon
Roy 是否上場，他沒有。活塞對待波特蘭拓荒者就像漢堡薯條一樣，在滿場的宮殿

"We've raised the bar so high that it's like we'll see you in June," said
Chauncey Billups, who had all 17 of his points in the first quarter. "I'm not
going to say they don't appreciate it.

For those who have not noticed, the Pistons have now won seven in a row and
are 36-13 with the second best record in the NBA. And Boston, which started
20-3, now has just two wins more than Detroit.
要告訴那些還沒注意到的人的是，活塞現在是七連勝而且36勝13負的成績是 NBA第
二好的。而波士頓，開季20勝 3負，現在只比底特律多兩勝。

For sure, the Pistons don't want a parade for playing well in the regular
season. It's just they shouldn't have to feel as if they are second-tier or
have to prove anything.
當然，活塞不想要因為在例行賽打這麼好而舉辦遊行。只是他們不該覺得他們像二
級球隊或是還得證明什麼。

Yet, fans want to trade Tayshaun Prince or Richard Hamilton. Or they are
still crying about not drafting Carmelo Anthony.
還有球迷想交易小王子或Rip。還有人仍舊對沒選Carmelo Anthony而抱怨。

The Pistons -- going for their seventh straight 50-plus win season -- have
been so good, for so long that fans just want to fast forward to the
postseason.
活塞 -- 準備要迎接他們連續第七個50勝以上的球季 -- 打得非常好，這麼久以來
都打得這麼好而球迷只想要趕快進到季後賽。

Sure, the Pistons expect to get to the Eastern Conference finals for the
sixth straight season and finally make their third trip to the NBA Finals in
the last five seasons.
當然，活塞被預期會連續第六季打到東區冠軍戰，也會在過去五個球季中第三次打
進NBA冠軍戰。

"We want to be impressive in the regular season and more impressive in the
playoffs," coach Flip Saunders said.
"我們想要在季賽打得很好，在季後賽打更好，"老桑說。


Fun to watch
看來饒富樂趣

But all that can wait.
但這都可以等

Fans should watch this season the way they did five years ago when this
well-oiled machine was getting started. Fans should never get tired of
winning.
球迷應該像五年前當這個順利運轉的機器開始工作時一樣的態度來觀看這個球季。
球迷絕不該對勝利感到厭倦。

And there are so many reasons why it's fun to watch the Pistons make yet
another run into June, starting with the young players. In the first half,
where the Pistons built a 59-35 lead, Rodney Stuckey (nine points), Amir
Johnson (nine points and four rebounds) and Arron Afflalo (four points) were
all present and accounted for.
有很多在活塞進入六月賽程前觀賞起來會很有趣的原因，從年輕球員講起吧。在上
半場活塞取得59-35的領先時，Stuckey（9分），Amir（9分和4籃板）及Afflalo
（4分）都是功臣。

"It's nothing like winning, being on a winning organization that's main goal
is to win," Afflalo said.
"沒有什麼比勝利的果實還要甜美，在一個勝利的組織中首要目標就是贏球，"Afflalo
說

This is a great team, a championship-caliber squad. It's time folks around
here recognized it.
這是個偉大的球隊，一個冠軍層級的球隊。是底特律人該認可這點的時候了。
