INDIANAPOLIS -- Even though Rasheed Wallace doesn't want to be picked by the
Eastern Conference coaches as an All-Star reserve, he sure played like he was
worthy of the honor in Detroit's 110-104 win at Indiana on Tuesday.

Wallace turned in one of his most impressive performances of the season, making
a bunch of big plays at both ends of the floor to catapult Detroit (32-13) to
its third win against the Pacers (19-27) in as many matchups this season.

His dominant performance was a bit unexpected considering how he was such a
non-factor at both ends of the floor in the first quarter which ended with

Wallace scored inside the lane on layups. He had powerful, two-handed power
dunks. And in the fourth quarter when the Pistons were in need of a basket,
Wallace delivered a 3-pointer that made it a two-possession game that stymied
an Indiana spurt.

Tuesday's game.

"He's a great player," O'Brien said. "He's one of the premier big men in the
NBA. He generally doesn't get the recognition he deserves. He's an

All-Star team, to me, I think he's one of the top three big men in the East and
very, very difficult for anybody to defend."

And whether he is playing well or woefully, Wallace will have plenty to say
during games.

There were several possessions on Tuesday in which Wallace made it clear to
anyone within earshot that the Pacers couldn't guard him without fouling.

In the middle of a Pistons possession in the second quarter, Wallace complained
to a nearby official that Troy Murphy was holding him.

When it became clear that the official wasn't going to make the call Wallace
called out, 'bankshot,' right before he released a shot that ricocheted off the
backboard and through the net.

The Pacers tried their best to be physical with Wallace, to try and move his
6-foot-11, 230-pound frame as far away from the basket as possible.

"That's what I like," Wallace said. "I like to get physical. I like all the
