[外電] McDyess or Maxiell

Flip Saunders said Friday he wasn't sure whether Antonio McDyess or Jason
Maxiell would start at power forward in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference
finals.
老桑星期五表示，他還不確定東區冠軍第一戰活塞的先發前鋒是袋鼠或Maxy。

"A lot will depend on who we are playing against, what we are trying to do
and who we have (healthy)," Saunders said. "We try to put the best guys on
the floor to help the team be successful and sometimes one guy might bring
something to the table that will help us be successful in certain situations
depending on personnel."
老桑說誰先發主要的依據是活塞的對手，活塞的打法和誰比較健康。

The example he used was in the Orlando series. Saunders thought it would be
best to have McDyess start when rookie Rodney Stuckey was replacing Chauncey
Billups.
像對魔術的系列戰，老桑認為當Stuckey取代槍蜥先發時，袋鼠先發會比Maxy先發還好。

"We thought that would help Stuck out a lot, kind of ease some of the
pressure and (have) a guy who could consistently knock down that 17-,
18-footer," Saunders said. "We have to see how Chauncey reacts to game
situations."

Saunders also said that he didn't want to put Maxiell in a situation where he
might wear down over the course of a series.

"We always have to watch Maxey," Saunders said.

"He's undersized a lot and when he gets matched up with bigger people, he
works so hard and uses so much energy. When he's had to do that over a long
stretch, he's gotten worn down. His greatest strength is how hard he plays
and his enthusiasm. When that drops even a little, his strength can become a
weakness."
老桑認為因為Maxy在對上較大隻的大個時相對小號許多，他得出付更多拼勁和活力，而
這樣長時間下來他就會累壞。而他最大的優勢-拼勁和熱情-在他累壞時就會變成他的弱
點。

Saunders said that the decision wasn't based solely on the opponent, either.
老桑也說先發的決定不單單看對手。

He didn't think one player was a better or worse matchup against either
Cleveland or Boston, though if the decision were based on size matchups
alone, McDyess would seem to be the logical starter.
他不認為其中一位球員在對騎士或塞爾提克時有絕對的優勢，但如果依照對戰身材來看
的話，McDyess似乎會是比較合理的先發。

The Cavaliers start Ben Wallace at power forward and bring Anderson Varejao
and Joe Smith off the bench. McDyess matches up well with Wallace and Smith,
while Maxiell probably is a better matchup with Varejao.
騎士讓班蛙先打先發前鋒，Varejao和Smith打板凳。袋鼠對上班蛙和 Smith比較有優勢
，而Maxy或許比較適合守Varejao。

The Celtics, meanwhile, have been starting Kendrick Perkins and Kevin Garnett
in the frontcourt. In the past, Rasheed Wallace and McDyess have taken turns
guarding Garnett, with the other taking Perkins.

The Celtics have been using Leon Powe, Glen Davis and P.J. Brown off the
bench. Maxiell, again, is better suited to guard Powe and Davis, more so than
Garnett or Perkins.

和Perkins。

"Whatever this team needs, I'll do," Maxiell said. "Start, come of the bench,
it doesn't matter to me."

Said McDyess: "I know what it's like to be a starter in this league, so I
don't need to be a starter to know I belong or anything like that.

"The only thing I care about is winning, and getting back to having a chance
to win a championship."

Focus remains good

The Pistons were eagerly awaiting Game 6 between the Celtics and Cavaliers on
Friday night, but only so they know for sure where and when their next game
will be.
活塞很想知道第六戰的結果，但他們只是想知道下一戰的時間和場地而已。

"It doesn't really matter (who wins)," Lindsey Hunter said. "We're familiar
with both teams, so that won't be a problem. We're just trying to stay sharp
and stay focused."

力即可。

“I look at a game differently,” he said after the Pistons’ Friday
practice, their third day in a row without a game to play – a streak that
could stretch to six if Cleveland holds serve at home tonight and forces a
Sunday Game 7. “I look at more not the results of what happens and more of
what they’re doing to try to get results. I try not to get caught up in what
the score is, but conceptually what they’re trying to do.”
老桑說他看塞爾提克和騎士的第六戰時會比較在意球隊做了什麼而不是結果，也不是分
數。

Of course, he’ll be interested in the final score – because that’s going
to dictate his weekend. If Cleveland wins, the Pistons won’t practice on
Saturday. If Boston wins, they’ll be back at it Saturday morning and hopping
a flight east in the afternoon for a Sunday Game 1 of the Eastern Conference
finals.
如果騎士贏球，活塞星期六就不用練習。如果塞爾提克贏球，活塞星期六早上就得練習
，下午就要飛到波士頓準備打星期日的比賽。

“I watch for tendencies,” he said. “I watch to see what play they yell
after timeouts, what they like to go to with four seconds on the clock. That’
s what you watch.”

Saunders said he's been pleased with the intensity of the last two practices.

"Guys have really kept their edge, as far as maintaining the level we had in
the Orlando series," he said. "There's been no slippage, nobody's just
walking through things. We have kept a very good edge."

Saunders said Billups worked even harder Friday than he had Thursday, and
still felt no ill effects from the strained right hamstring suffered in Game
3 of the last series.

Porter a Piston first

As reported Thursday night, Pistons assistant Terry Porter has interviewed
for the head coaching job in Phoenix, and he's done so with the blessing of
Saunders and the Pistons.
Porter應徵太陽教頭的工作是受到老桑和活塞人的祝福的。

"It says something about the organization here and the success we've had,"
Saunders said. "This league is a copy-cat league a lot of times. When teams
have success, others look at things you do and try to inject that same thing
into their team."
老桑認為這個聯盟很常時候是個複製的聯盟。當球隊獲得成功時其他球隊就想要跟那些
球隊注入些同樣的東西。

Saunders said he wasn't worried about Porter being distracted.
老桑說他不擔心Porter會因此分心。

"Terry understands why he's being looked at," Saunders said. "One, he's been
a head coach, and two, the success we've had here. It depends on the
character of the individual person, but I know the people we have on our
staff, and Terry, they are all committed to the task we have at hand."

McDyess missing

McDyess missed practice Friday to attend the funeral of his grandmother. He
is expected to rejoin the team today.
堅強的袋鼠星期五沒練習而是去參與他阿媽的喪禮。預計星期六會回來。

The Akron Beacon Journal reports that several Cavaliers -- including
ex-Piston Ben Wallace -- have struggled with allergies during their three
playoff games in Beantown. Seems Boston has a pollen problem this time of
year.
騎士媒體報導說，包含班蛙的一些騎士球員在豆豆城的三場季後賽都受到了過敏的影響
。似乎波士頓在今年的這個時候有些花粉的麻煩。

"I'm not going outside at all," Cleveland forward Wally Szczerbiak said
before Game 5. "You want to avoid taking medication if you can, because it
can make you drowsy, so I'm just trying to avoid the pollen."
「我都不出門宅在家的。」Szczerbiak在第五戰賽前說。「因為吃藥會讓你昏昏欲睡，
