[外電] Celtics dominate Pistons to take 2-1 series lead

AUBURN HILLS -- The Pistons are in big trouble.

They managed to hold onto home court for less than 48 hours, following up one
of their most impressive postseason victories in recent memory with one of
their most embarrassing.
在打出近來最佳的季後賽勝利搶下主場優勢不到48小時後他們就打出了最冏的一場比賽。

"Just no excuses for the way we came out today," Pistons rookie guard Rodney
Stuckey said after the Celtics ran the Pistons out of The Palace on Saturday,
94-80, to take a 2-1 lead in the Eastern Conference finals.

"We had a great chance to take this series over, and we didn't do nothing
with it."

History shows that 75 percent of the teams that win Game 3 of a 1-1 series
win the series. And to lose the pivotal Game 3 this badly -- well, that only
makes the odds longer for the Pistons.

"Monday (Game 4) is a crucial game for us," Pistons coach Flip Saunders said.
"No ifs ands or buts -- that's our biggest game of the year."

Making it even more ominous, Chauncey Billups took another step back. After a
strong Game 2, he labored mightily, scoring six points (1-for-6). The concern
over his strained right hamstring is back.

"I am tired of talking about it," he said. "It is what it is. There's nothing
I can do (about the injury). It's not like I have a lot of time. I just have

Stuckey stepped up again, scoring 17 points, with four steals and a block.
The Pistons played their best basketball when Stuckey was on the floor. In
fact, at one point in the third quarter, the Pistons were a minus-23 with
Billups on the floor.

"More than anything, Chauncey just didn't have a good game," said Saunders,
not using the leg as an excuse. "He didn't play well. The first thing you
need to get back when you've been out a while is your consistency. He didn't
have it, whether he was a little bit slow or sore or whatever."

The Pistons could be faced with the prospect of playing their biggest game of
the postseason with Billups in a diminished role.

"It's just so disappointing to let one like this go," Billups said. "We had
this (series) where we wanted it, but this one is over now. We have to
refocus."

The Celtics came in having lost six consecutive road postseason games. Their
last road victory was April 14. On top of that,

‧ Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen were in early foul trouble.

‧ Paul Pierce took just six shots. He made four, but only had 11 points with
five turnovers.

‧ Allen was no factor, scoring 14 points (5 for 16).

‧ The Celtics committed 16 turnovers, which the Pistons turned into 26
points.

Yet, the Pistons still trailed by as many as 24 and drew boos from the crowd.

"Our defense was horrible," Lindsey Hunter said. "It had nothing to do with a
bad shooting night. We can always manufacture enough points. We gave up two
dunks (in the first two possessions) and you tell me we were ready to play?"

The Pistons did shoot horrendously (38.4 percent), including 1-for-13 on
3-pointers. They were outrebounded by 16. They gave up 16 second-chance
points.

Ready to play? Not so much.

"We played (lousy)," said Rasheed Wallace (12 points, eight rebounds, three
blocks). "But I don't see it as that big a thing. It's whoever gets to four
(wins) first."

Richard Hamilton scored 26 points but missed 10-of-18 shots.

Stuckey and Hamilton scored eight points apiece as the Pistons tried to mount
a late rally. After a Billups 3-pointer and a Tayshaun Prince dunk, the
Pistons were within nine at 87-78 with 3:20 left. But Billups got the ball
stripped, Wallace fouled out and the Celtics were able to finish it off.

Garnett finished with 22 points and 13 rebounds.

"We just feel like with Detroit, we can't let our guard down," said Kendrick
Perkins (12 points, 10 rebounds). "They've been in this position before. Them
losing a game in their building is not pressure on them. They are going to
come out next game with a very high energy and compete."
Perkins認為活塞不是沒遇過這種情況，活塞沒壓力。他認為活塞下一場會很有活力。

Especially with the way the game ended. Allen drained a meaningless jumper in
the final second and James Posey threw his arm in exaltation right in front
of Prince.
特別是Allen還在最後投進一顆跳投，Posey還在小王子面前振臂歡呼。
