Richard Hamilton hit his first eight shots and triggered an early 13-0 run.

Chauncey Billups, who had hit just eight of his last 52 3-point attempts, made
3 of 5, including one from half court to end the first half.

The Pistons didn't give up a point for the first 6:14 of the third quarter,
opening on a 10-0 run. They closed the game on a 10-2 run.

Billups had made just 17 of his previous 57 shots before Sunday. His 3-pointer
to close the first half ended the Clippers' only threat. They went on an 11-2
surge to cut the lead to one before Billups' blast burst their bubble.

third. Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy, frustrated by a no-call on a drive by

into the third.

record to 20-10.

couldn't let that linger."

Jason Maxiell and Antonio McDyess, the two-headed power forward filling in for
Wallace, combined for 26 points (17 by McDyess), eight rebounds (six by McDyess
) and six blocks (four by Maxiell).

points, missing 8 of 12 shots, with five turnovers.

"I thought Maxey played Brand about as well as anybody can play him one-on-one,
" Saunders said.

Detroit, 2-0 on this trip, moves to the Pacific Northwest, playing at Seattle
on Tuesday and Portland on Wednesday.
