AUBURN HILLS -- For the better part of a week, the media has broken down and
dissected all the individual and positional matchups for the Pistons-Bulls
Eastern Conference semifinals.

And then Friday, the day before the series starts, Chauncey Billups says to
throw all that junk out the window.

"It's not about individual matchups," he said after the Pistons' final tuneup.
"All that stuff is overrated. It's a team thing. It's all about effort and will
. You know how hard they play. You know what they do. If we play as hard as

they're going to win."

Effort and will, certainly, and maybe composure, as well. The Bulls won three
of the four regular-season games against the Pistons, largely because they
pestered the Pistons off their game.

There were 13 technicals called, seven on the Pistons. Their frustration led to
playing out of character, shooting quickly, playing a more one-on-one style
which fed right into the Bulls' strengths.

"I think we did (annoy the Pistons) in the regular season," Bulls guard Ben

The composure issue was one of the first things discussed when the Pistons

emotional series because it's going to be a battle."

Coach Flip Saunders said technicals didn't necessarily indicate a loss of
composure.

Billups was asked why the Bulls seem to rankle the Pistons more than most teams

"They just compete at the highest level," he said. "Every single play they are
going to give 100 percent effort.

dirty at all, but they play hard. And it starts with Kirk (Hinrich ). He's a

Saunders did not reveal his 12-man active roster, though Ronald Dupree might
replace Nazr Mohammed at times.

名單內。

Lindsey Hunter and Jason Maxiell are expected to see more time to counter the
Bulls' smaller lineups.
