CHICAGO -- The awakening came slowly Thursday, with the real Pistons finally
arriving midway in the third quarter.

It was high time, as the United Center was rocking and the Bulls held an
18-point lead in Game 3.

The Pistons finally came to play, and the results were ultimately devastating
for the Bulls.

In a blistering, 10-minute span, the Pistons dismantled the Bulls' lead down
to one with a 22-6 run -- stunning the Bulls and their fans.

The Pistons went on to defeat the Bulls, 81-74, taking a commanding 3-0

The Pistons held the Bulls to 30 points in the second half, while scoring 53
of their own.

Bulls coach Scott Skiles had an inkling trouble was coming when the Pistons
got going.

"From my seat, what has become a trend over three games is when they want to
do something, they do it," Skiles said. "We've not had a lot of answers. When
they decide to penetrate the basketball, they do. When they want to shoot 3s,
they shoot 3s.

"We had some great sequences. Just that once things got tight, they turned it
up and we weren't able to go with them."

The Pistons were a different basketball team from the first half to the
second. The first half's edition was sluggish and slow, allowing the Bulls to
be the aggressor in every way.

The second-half edition of the Pistons was much more engaged, hustling for
loose balls and rebounds. And they exclusively went to zone defense, throwing
the Bulls into chaos.

And then those Pistons things started to happen: Billups and Rasheed Wallace

The Pistons started hustling more, and their shots -- previously bricks --
began to fall.

Wallace turned the boisterous United Center into a library at the end of the

The Pistons took their first lead of the game, 62-61, at 10:08 in the fourth.

Prince finished with 23 points, Billups 21 and Wallace and Hamilton 16 each.

The Bulls somberly walked off their home court, accompanied by a cascade of
boos from their fans.

"It's hard to lose a game like that," said Bulls forward Luol Deng, who had
21 points and 14 rebounds. "We just have to tap each other on the shoulder,
and know we played hard. It really hurts."
