LOS ANGELES-- The Pistons don't seem overly impressed with themselves
despite their NBA-best 14-2 record, which also is the best 16-game
start in their history and includes the best road record
in the league (9-1).

we're not giving the ball to certain people. We're doing this
and we're doing that."And … we allowed them to take us out of our game."

Speaking of confidence, Saunders turned the game over
to Chauncey Billups in the fourth quarter.
"He was in big-shot mode," Saunders said.
"I can look into Chauncey's eyes and tell when he's in that zone
where he's ready to take over a game."
Billups got eight of 29 points in the fourth,
all coming in the final 4:54. Twice in the final two minutes,
he took the ball to the basket and made layups in the face of forward
Mike Dunleavy. Both times, it was as if Billups hadn't been
aware Dunleavy was there.

is a legitimate playoff contender in the West.

in the West," Saunders said. "That means they have four guys
on the floor that can score 30 on any given night --
Sam Cassell, Cuttino Mobley, Elton Brandand Maggette."
