The Pistons' 20th win of the season didn't come easily.

The Portland Trail Blazers knew the Pistons would be a bit weary from playing
three games in four nights, but thanks to some key defensive stops, the Pistons
escaped with a 93-89 victory.

The Pistons have been in five games decided by five points or fewer, and
they've won them all.

by three. Ben Wallace swatted a Zach Randolph lay-up with the scored tied with

blocked another Randolph lay-up to preserve the Pistons' 90-86 lead.

the Pistons holding a two-point lead. First, Prince stole a Steve Blake pass in
the lane, preventing Portland from tying the score. Then after Prince sank a
pair of free throws for a four-point lead, he blocked Martell Webster's
desperation three-point attempt just before time expired.

start in franchise history.

good veterans plus our core is the same," guard Chauncey Billups said.

RIDING THE PINE: Time and again, coach Flip Saunders has said he's not worried
about the bench's lack of playing time.

Five Pistons reserves played a combined 45 minutes, 9 seconds against Portland.
But in the Pistons' double-overtime win at Memphis on Monday, five players
combined for 54:40 off the bench, and in their blowout win against Charlotte
the entire bench played for 90:33.
5位板凳球員在對上波特蘭拓荒者那場比賽總共上場45分又9秒。不過禮拜一在孟斐斯
那場經歷二度延長才結束的比賽，5位替補球員合計上場54分40秒，另外對上夏洛特山貓那

Sometimes, finding minutes for the reserves is out of Saunders' control. He
said Portland went with a lineup that forced the Pistons to use Prince more.
Rasheed Wallace was in a little longer because McDyess was in foul trouble.
有時候，為替補球員尋求上場時間並不在Saunders的掌控之下。他說拓荒者使用的陣
容迫使活塞必須讓小王子上場久一些，而溪蛙則是因為袋鼠過早陷入犯規麻煩上場時間才
比平常多上一些。
"So what happens is, it eats up some of those minutes and the other guys have
to play a bit more," Saunders said.
