No player can suffer a Game 7 NBA Finals defeat and walk away with his spirit
intact.
沒有球員可以忍受輸掉NBA總冠軍賽第7場的滋味而若無其事地走開。
But of all of the Pistons who felt that agony last summer, no one's wounds cut
as deep as those of Antonio McDyess.
不過上一季暑假飽受總冠軍賽輸球痛苦的活塞球員們，沒有一個人的感受如同袋鼠一

Last June's tilt with San Antonio was McDyess' first real playoff run, let
alone his first championship series.

To get within minutes of winning a title and fail is a feeling he'll never
shake.

like we did, it's going to stick with me the rest of my life, I feel."

So that explains his extra effort Sunday, when the Pistons played the Spurs for
the first time since the series. McDyess had a double-double off the bench,
scoring 10 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.

difference from last year's Pistons' team and this year's has been the
consistent play of Billups.

everybody so much better, and I think that's a huge difference." Billups
finished with 20 points and six rebounds Sunday, despite being covered at times
by Bruce Bowen, one of the league's premier defenders. Billups also covered
Tony Parker on the defensive end, and limited the NBA's top scorer in the paint
to just 19 points.

SANTA SIGHTINGS: The victory was the Pistons' first at home on Christmas Day
since 1971. But before the players arrived at the Palace, many played daddy
duty and awoke with the kids to see what Santa Claus had dropped off over
night.

NOTEBOOK: Rasheed Wallace said he doesn't yet know when he'll have to leave the
team to attend the funeral for his 22-year-old cousin, Tyree Wallace, who was
killed Thursday in what authorities said was an undercover police drug bust in
Philadelphia.
