活塞的老兵們，已經隨時準備好接受球隊的征召

AUBURN HILLS -- Patience.
As NBA players get older, it becomes more of a necessity in order to stick
around.
當一個NBA球員年齡增長的時候，隨時保持能夠上場作戰的狀況，變成一件很重要的事。
Detroit Pistons center/forward Dale Davis knows this all too well.
底特律活塞的中前鋒老戴(Dale Davis)，對於這件事情已經非常的了解了。
Now in his 15th NBA season, Davis has seen fewer minutes than any other Piston
on the active roster all season.
現在已經是老戴的第15個球季了，不過現在看起來，老戴很可能變成所有可上場(active)
的活塞球員名單中，那個上場時間越來越少的人。
He wants to play more. He feels he can contribute in a meaningful way.
老戴想要上場打球，他也覺得自己能夠在許多方面給活塞帶來不少有意義的貢獻和幫助。
But Davis also understands that his value to this team can't be measured by
what he does in December.
不過同時，老戴也很了解，在活塞的隊伍裡面，他在十二月時能帶來的貢獻，並不完全就

"I would like to be playing more," Davis said. "I'm sure we all would, the guys
that aren't playing a lot. It's a long year. I feel my importance will be more
valuable down the stretch. That's what they've (Pistons front-office)
expressed to me. When that time comes, I just have to be ready."
"我的確是想要上場打更多的一點時間。"老戴說。"我也知道我們這些沒辦法長時間上場的

The 6-foot-11, 252-pound Davis hasn't done much scoring for the Pistons this
season, but he has provided a solid defensive presence, which is exactly what
Detroit is looking for him to provide.

有了一席之地，而這也是活塞所期待老戴所帶來的真正價值之一。
"That's one quality that I bring to the table," Davis said. "Quite naturally,
when I play a little more, I'll probably do a few more things. Right now, I
know I can bring that (defensive presence) to the table for this team."
"這些就是我能為球隊帶來的貢獻之一。"老戴說道。"'當上場時間越來越多的時候，我的
能力也確實允許我能帶給球隊在更多的方面帶來幫助。現在。我知道我能為球隊做到的最

He isn't the lone veteran Detroit will be looking to down the stretch.

Lindsey Hunter, now in his 13th NBA season, has not played this season due to
left ankle surgery in November. Hunter has resumed practicing with the team
and has been solid thus far.
今年是獵人的第13個球季，而本季因為11月的腳踝，至今都還沒辦法上場。目前獵人已經
回到了球隊的練習當中，一切狀況也非常的順利。
There has been some soreness, but Hunter is gradually regaining the foot speed
and lateral quickness that have made him one of the NBA's top on-the-ball
defenders in recent years.
即使偶而還會感覺到酸痛，但是獵人已經慢慢的回復了以往的速度和側向移動力，而就是
這些能力，讓他這幾年來，成為聯盟裡頂尖的持球防守者之一。
"And we'll need that, definitely," said Pistons forward Antonio McDyess. "It's
been good that we've been winning so much without him. But we all know that
for us to be as good a team as we can be, we need Lindsey to do the things that
Lindsey does."
"這些絕對是我們需要的。"活塞前鋒Dice這麼說著。"幸好當我們沒有他的時候，還能贏得

Hunter is expected to return to action sometime next month.

"I'm ahead of schedule a little bit," Hunter said.

Several Pistons, including point guard Chauncey Billups, are looking forward to
his return.
一部份的活塞球員，包括了槍蜥，都在等待他的回來。
"When he comes back, that makes the team so much better," Billups said. "To
have a guy like him who is going to come out and give you 100 percent effort
on both ends, lock up whoever the other guy is, and still give you something
on the offensive end. That's a plus."
"當他回來的時候，這支隊伍就變得更完整了。"槍蜥這麼說。"有著像他一樣的這麼個球員

Billups feels the same way about Davis, too.

"Those two guys, we just got in our back pocket now," Billups said. "When the
time comes, they're going to be huge."

Hunter, who briefly flirted with the idea of retiring after last season,
understands that he has a limited but important role with this team.

即使他在隊伍裡的角色多少受到某種程度上的限制，但是他扮演的角色和價值，絕對是很
重要的。
And that's no problem for Hunter because, "we're all on the same page as far as
what we have to do this season."

之間都相當清楚，因此我們處在這樣的一條船上，也有著共同的理想和目標。
"We know what we need to do, and that's get the (NBA) title back," he said.
"That's our focus, that's our goal."
"我們需要做什麼，才能將失去一年的冠軍奪回，我們彼此都很清楚。"他說。"畢竟這就是
我們的焦點，也是我們的最高目標。"
The Pistons will face a Toronto team that features ex-Pistons Mike James, who
is having a career season for the Raptors. James, a key member of Detroit's
2004 NBA championship team, is averaging a career-high 15.2 points while
shooting 40.6 percent from 3-point range, also a career-high. When the two team
s met earlier this season, James had 12 points on 5-for-9 shooting from the
field.
活塞將會面臨多倫多的M.James，這位前活塞球員所帶來的挑戰。M.James本季在暴龍隊效
力，而在2004年活塞的總冠軍陣容當中，M.James也是一個重要的成員。當時他的績效是
15.2分，三分球命中率達到40.6%，這兩項都是他的生涯最佳。當本季稍早，兩隊首次碰頭
的時候，M.James投9中5，拿下了12分。
