each bench and maybe a few more points on the scoreboard.

The Heat and Pistons engaged in another physical, grinding test of wills
Thurs-day — reminiscent of their seven-game Eastern Conference finals series
in June.And now, just like then, the Pistons made all the winning plays in the
stretch drive to beat the Heat, 106-101, for their season-best ninth straight
victory.

30 points in the fourth quarter.“We've been together for so long and been

With the score tied in the final 2:45, Billups calmly sank two baskets, an 18
-footer and a driving layup. Then, after a miss by the Heat's Jason Williams,
Rasheed Wallace (21 points, 4-of-6 from three-point range) drained a 26-foot
three-pointer that gave the Pistons a 104-99 lead with 1:06 left.

Billups led the Pistons with 30 points and was serenaded with chants of “MVP,
 MVP”when he drained the final two free throws.

“I wouldn't say this win was more satisfying than any other,” Billups said.

Wade finished with 33 points, hitting 14 of 20 shots. He had 12 in the fourth

back to lose Wade and sent the sellout crowd into a frenzy with a dunk.
At that point, the Pistons led 93-87 with 5:41 left.
