It might have been Pat Riley's zone defense, their achy
ankles or simple postseason weariness. Whatever the cause,
a too-close-for-comfort fourth quarter Thursday night may
have left Pistons fans with uneasy relief, rather than
self-assured conviction, heading into tonight's Game 3 at
Miami.

92-88. But they sagged down the stretch. They stood. They

Hamilton and Ben Wallace -- had faded by game's end. The

in the win that squared the series. Prince scored his team's

Even then, Prince needs help. Consider what happened with 18.5
seconds left. The Pistons led by five when he stood beneath
his own basket, about to in-bound the ball after a Wade lay-up.
But Prince could not find an open teammate. In such situations,
he often seeks Rasheed Wallace. This time, though, Wallace was
on the bench. He had fouled out 32 seconds earlier.

ratio. With their point guard playing so effectively, and

past eight games, which has dropped his ratio to 1.4-to-1.
The Pistons are 4-4 in that stretch.
