AUBURN HILLS -- The walks down the hallway are different now for Grant Hill.
    奧本山訊 -- 對G.Hill來說走在走廊上的感覺已經不一樣了。

People still say hello. They still reach out to shake his hand. They still wish
him luck. But he knows they are not really interested in his best interest.
    人們依然向他問好。他們依然伸手和他握手。他們依然祝他好運。但他知道他們並不
是真的對於他最有興趣的東西感興趣。

He is the enemy now. He is the enemy to Lindsey Hunter, who poked him in the
arm as he walked by. He is the enemy to Nazr Mohammed, who quickly shook his
hand as Hill made his way to the postgame press conference Saturday night.
    他現在是敵人。他是獵人的敵人，獵人從他身旁走過時會偷偷戳一下他的手臂。他是

The people who shook his hand were gleeful, because the Pistons pulled out a
100-92 victory in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals at The Palace.
Hill was not happy because, despite 14 points and five assists, he did not have
enough game to beat the Pistons.

Not the same

He no longer can pass the way he used to. He no longer can dribble drive like
he could as a Piston. Hill also never has won a playoff series, and it is
obvious that is not about to change following the Pistons' victory, no matter
how sluggish the top seed in the East looked in the fourth quarter.
    他不再能像過去習慣那樣傳球。他不再能夠像他還是個活塞人那樣運球上籃。Hill也

points and 11 assists. Richard Hamilton (22 points) and Rasheed Wallace (16

Hill can't help but feel he is part of this. When he left Detroit in the summer
of 2000, it was supposed to signal the end of the Pistons. But it turned into a
rebirth for the franchise and the beginning of the end of Hill. It was his last
time in the playoffs until this season.

complicated equation that landed Rasheed Wallace, the final piece of the puzzle
who arrived in February of 2004.

He wants to win this series in the worse way. It would serve as a rebirth for
him.

People used to talk about Hill winning championships. Now, there is more talk
about a possible retirement than a ring. But he feels there still is life in
his bones.

Hill still talks to Hunter and shares his dreams with him. Hunter also roots
for Hill, though not in this series, of course.

"Everybody has a different road to travel," Hunter said. "And he understands
that. He had a great time here. He likes where he's at now and you can always

being in the playoffs rather than another early offseason. "I am thankful to be
here. Thankful to still be playing."

I know this, because Hill used to go through these chilling moments as a member
of the Pistons.
    我了解，因為Hill過去習慣於以活塞成員的身分經歷這些令人恐懼的時刻。

This town was unfair to him. It blamed him for the dreaded teal era of bad
basketball, even though he was surrounded by bad pieces. Rick Sund was a bad
general manager. Coach Doug Collins was a ticking time bomb. The only teammate
worth his weight in gold was Jerry Stackhouse. The Pistons were so desperate to
fill seats that they made Hill the savior -- but it was a role that never fit
him.

Hill did not want to be the star here. He'd much rather be one part of a
championship franchise.

"That is what we all strive for," Hunter said. "Like I said, you never know.
You never know where you are going or what situation you will be in."

The breakup was a great one for the Pistons.
    那次分手對於活塞來說是再好不過的一件事。

It was a bad divorce for Hill, who still is trying to find his way.
    但對於一直到現在都還在尋找自己的未來的Hill來說，卻是一次糟到不行的分離。
