Sub Iverson helps Pistons finish off Milwaukee

It doesn't matter if Allen Iverson is starting, coming off the bench or
blowing off practice.
Everything he does seems to take on a larger-than-life existence.

"With him, anything that he does is going to be big," Pistons coach
Michael Curry said prior to Friday's game against Milwaukee.
"He's an icon in this game. So the things that he does (are) going to get a
lot of coverage. When he does things good, he gets a lot of coverage as well.
That's just part of it."

Although most of the talk heading into Friday's game revolved around Iverson's
decision to skip Thanksgiving day practice, he proved to be one of the NBA's
best game-changers and helped Detroit pull away in the fourth quarter for a
107-97 win against Milwaukee.
Iverson, who did not start because of the skipped practice, finished with
17 points and seven assists.

雖然周五的比賽前積都話題都圍繞著小艾在感恩節的練球翹頭，
但他球賽第四節幫助球隊最後以107-97擺脫公鹿的追趕，

"Obviously, I'm used to starting basketball games," Iverson said. "It was
different for me."
Although he struggled early on to make shots, Iverson got hot just when the
Pistons needed him most.
Milwaukee had cut Detroit's double-digit lead down to 82-76 in the fourth
following a put-back basket by Charlie Villanueva.
That's when Iverson took over, scoring six points during an 8-3 Pistons run.
The run was capped off by an Iverson steal which led to a breakaway dunk for
Arron Afflalo.

The Pistons continued to pull away. They limited the Bucks to shooting around
40 percent for the second consecutive game.
"We're starting to get better," Curry said after the win. "We did a good job
of keeping them out of the paint, and moved the ball offensively."
Detroit's bench turned in another strong performance. Jason Maxiell
contributed 13 points, eight rebounds and a career-high six blocked shots,
while Walter Herrmann had 16 points which includes five 3-pointers.

But the story of the game was Iverson, who acknowledged afterward that he
might have been pressing a bit on Friday.
"With all the hoopla around everything, just all the attention that it got,"
said Iverson, referring to Thursday's missed practice. "I just wanted to do
well, especially for my teammates, because obviously I let them down by not
being here. I just wanted to make up for that with my play."

For Detroit players, Iverson's missed practice was a non-issue.
"We're a veteran team," Detroit guard Richard Hamilton said. "We know things
happen. We never really made anything about it. We knew we had to come out
today and get a win."

Detroit got off to a strong start, courtesy of Rodney Stuckey, who was starting
in place of Iverson.
Defensively, Stuckey did a solid job on Luke Ridnour in the first quarter.
He also had seven points on 3-for-5 shooting to accompany three assists.
He totaled 12 points and five assists.
"I'm always going to be ready to play," Stuckey said. "That's not going to be
a problem."

代替小艾先發的是Stuckey，他讓活塞有個好的開場!

Detroit continued to control the game's flow in the first half, which ended
with the Pistons leading 62-49.
But the third quarter was the best for Milwaukee, as they shaved Detroit's
double-digit lead to six points on two occasions.
Detroit struggled to push its lead back to double digits in the third, but a
free throw by Hamilton with 1.7 seconds to play in the quarter gave Detroit
an 82-72 lead going into the fourth.

但公鹿的第三節攻勢猛烈，一度追到只差6分，活塞盡力保持優勢，Hamilton第三節最後
1.7秒的罰球，讓活賽以82-72十分的優勢進入第四節!
