So what's life off the court really like in the NBA?

NBA球員的場外生活是什麼呢？

ESPN The Magazine writer Chris Palmer tackled that question in his book "The
Sixth Man: A Season Inside the NBA Playground."

ESPN的雜誌作家克里斯鮑默將這個問題寫在他的書─
"第六人：在球場外的另一個球季"裡。

His lively account gives a great glance into the baller's life. One of his five
subjects was Pistons shooting guard Richard Hamilton.

他生動的描繪了球員們的生活，在他著墨到的五個球員裡，
有一個便是活塞的得分後衛漢米。

The others were the Clippers' Elton Brand, former Heat guard Damon Jones (now
with Cleveland), Chicago's Luol Deng and Houston's Tracy McGrady.

另外的四位是快艇隊的布蘭德、前熱火(目前騎士)後衛戴蒙瓊斯、芝加哥的滷蛋、
以及休士頓的T-Mac。

Palmer dishes on Hamilton's friendship with Kobe Bryant and takes readers on a

He spent his NBA championship bonus on a Maybach, a luxury car. The license
plate reads: 04 BONUS.

活塞豆知識：
Maybach台灣翻譯為麥巴赫，為克萊斯勒旗下的子品牌，麥巴赫不只是這家品牌的名字
更是車子的型號明，超貴、超耗油、馬力超強、超舒適。
全台灣只有五台，擁有的人是裕隆集團嚴凱泰、中信集團辜濂松、國泰金控蔡宏圖、
順益集團林清富、東森集團王令麟，辜濂松當初買下這部車花了將近三千萬喔。

He has a full-service barbershop on the second floor of his home. That probably
explains why his braids are so well-kept.

他家二樓有一個超高級的髮廊，這或許可以解釋他的辮子總是如此整齊。

He rolls just about everywhere with his pals from Coatesville, Pa., his
hometown. The love they have for the town is immense. Ten members of Rip's crew
have "CV FOR LIFE" tattooed on them.

When the word "crew" or "entourage" comes up, it usually conjures an image of
sycophants.

Palmer, in a phone interview, said Hamilton's CV crew was anything but a group
of leeches

鮑默在一次電話訪談中，提到漢米的這個CV幫並不是為了攀權附貴而產生。

"They never came across as a bunch of guys who came along for a free ride,"
Palmer said. "People don't really know the extent of how far back these guys
go. No one stopped to think about the fact that these are guys that have known
the players forever.

鮑默道："他們從不是為了不勞而獲而聚在一起，人們不知道他們之間的感情
有多深，沒人停下來想想

"A couple of them went to Bucknell. One is an engineer for Whirlpool. They
never seem to rely on Rip."
