CHAPTER I
PEACE
Article 1

a.The state of war between Japan and each of the Allied Powers is terminated as
from the date on which the present Treaty comes into force between Japan and
the Allied Power concerned as provided for in Article 23.

第 1 條  【戰爭狀態結束、承認日本主權】
a.日本與各聯盟國之戰爭狀態，依據本條約第 23 條之規定，為自日本與各聯盟國之條約生
效日起結束。

第一章　平和
第一条  【戦争状態の終了、日本国の主権承認】
a.日本国と各連合国との間戦争状態は、第二十三条の定めるところによりこの条約が日本
国と当該連合国との間に効力を生ずる日に終了する。

b.The Allied Powers recognize the full sovereignty of the Japanese people over
Japan and its territorial waters.

b.聯盟國承認日本與其領海之日本國民之完全主權。

b.連合国は、日本国及びその領水に対する日本国民の完全な主権を承認する。
