[交易] 光芒簽下Joe Nelson

右手牛 Joe Nelson 已和 坦帕灣光芒隊簽約,

據The Miami Herald的Clark Spencer 報導. 這是個一年130萬美金的合約.

這位來自同洲球隊的右手牛明年就35歲了

1996年勇士第四輪選上的

但一直到01年才上到大聯盟

成績不是很理想 之後就到處流浪

直到去年被大魚簽走後投出生涯最佳成績

G 59  IP 54.0  H 42  ER 12  HR 5  BB 22  SO 60  ERA 2.00  WHIP 1.185

但樣本數不多 算是一個賭注

不過用一年130萬賭一個右手牛風險不算太大

這個約目前看起來簽得滿好的

Nelson always seems to be battling back from injuries

having had both TJ and shoulder surgeries.

He has always posted good minor league numbers as a reliever

and even served as Kansas City's closer for part of '06.

As far as his stuff, he brings a low-90s fastball that gets some sink.

Then he drops in a 'vulcan' changeup.

He has shown breaking balls in the past,

but usually relies on just two pitches. 5/27/08 CSJ
