ST. PETERSBURG -- The Rays have added another arm to their list of bullpen
hopefuls by signing right-hander Joaquin Benoit to a Minor League deal Monday,
which includes an invite to Major League Spring Training.
Benoit, 29, stands 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds and has spent his entire career with
the Rangers. He first pitched in the Major Leagues in 2001.
Benoit made 44 appearances with the Rangers in 2009 and posted a 3-2 record
with a 5.00 ERA. In 273 career appearances, Benoit is 8-12 with a 4.79 ERA.
