Rays executive vice president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said
that it's "premature" to discuss a timetable for Evan Longoria
(hamstring/knee) until they see how he feels Tuesday.
Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times passed along word that Longoria has a
hamstring issue which could keep him out 6-8 weeks, but that report may have
jumped the gun, as Friedman said that no tests have been done yet. In fact,
Friedman doesn't intend to place him on the disabled list unless it looks
like he'll miss more than 10 days of action. Stay tuned, as we should have
some more clarity on the situation at some point on Tuesday.
