[心得] Player Ratings: Real Madrid 2-0 Ajax

Iker Casillas  6.5

Only had one significant save to make with a wonderful reflex one-handed

block to deny Sulejmani after Emanuelson’s shot had come off the crossbar.


Arbeloa        6.0

Wasn’t troubled at all at the back but didn’t show any attacking intent

either. Offered overlapping options but was never needed.


Pepe           6.0

Barely had any desperate challenges to make thanks to Carvalho’s command

inside the box.


Ricardo Carvalho 8.0

An absolute rock in defence, making vital interceptions before the ball

got anywhere near the danger zone. Made a nuisance of himself in attack from

set-pieces.


Marcelo        7.5

Extremely adventurous and played almost as an attacking winger. Was further

up the pitch than Ronaldo at times constantly creating openings for his side.


Sami Khedira   6.5

Didn’t have much to do defensively and took the opportunity to help his

attacking team-mates.


Xabi Alonso    7.0

Cool and calm. Drifted all across the front of his backline to help mop up

and break up a number of Ajax attacks.


Mesut Ozil Top of the Match  8.5

A real creative force in midfield with his quick bursts, clever one-twos,

through balls, and flicks. Made the assist for the second goal after seeing

his initial shot blocked. Another exceptional outing for the young German.


Angel Fabian Di Maria  7.5

Always positioned himself in all the right places to take a shot at goal.

Had at least four or five glorious scoring chances in the. Combined

brilliantly with Oezil in particular.


Cristiano Ronaldo      6.0

Not one of his best games. Too static, too many misplaced passes and poor

control of the ball, and numerous scuffed shots. Credit has to go to him

for trying until the very end to get onto the scoresheet with shot after

shot at the Ajax goal.


Gonzalo Gerardo Higuain  8.0

Rattled the crossbar with a sumptuous solo effort before bundling the ball

over the line from a Xabi corner. Showed his predatory instincts again to

tap in the second goal, but he was hugely involved in every Madrid attack.
