Carvalho passes medical
Ricardo Carvalho passed his required medical on Thursday prior to
signing his contract as the newest member of Real Madrid. According
to the chief of Sanitas-Real Madrid medical services, Dr. Carlos Diez,
"the player is in perfect health."
The player arrived at Sanitas La Moraleja Hospital at 9:10 CET and was
met by Dr. Diez and his team, who performed various tests on the player
including blood and urine samples, an EKG, an ECHO, an MRI, various
X-rays, a biomechanics study and a complete analysis of his locomotor
and cardiorespiratory systems.
Once the checkup was completed, Dr. Carlos Diez commented that Carvalho
"passed every test we performed. The medical took longer than expected
because the player was injured in the past and we wanted to be sure
that they had healed properly, which they have. He is in perfect health
to play at a professional level for many years to come."

Carvalho inks contract with club
Ricardo Carvalho now officially plays for Real Madrid after signing a
two-year contratc with the club. The player was greeted and welcomed
by Director General, Jorge Valdano and Sporting Director, Miguel
Pardeza.
The Portuguese center-back arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu at
12:55 and was greeted by Jorge Valdano and Miguel Pardeza, who
accompanied Carvalho to the Board Room. Once there, he signed his
two-year contract with the club and was presented with a a silver
replica of Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, a fountain pen and a watch.
Carvalho also received his first Real Madrid shirt before having
the chance to have a look at a few of the most important trophies
won by the club, the nine European Cups.
