From a free kick and in the extra time, that's how Luis Figo gave the victory
to Real Madrid in Vallecas. The Whites got ahead on two occasions thanks to
Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos, though Azkoitia and Julio Alvarez' free kick
managed to draw the score. The target the Portuguese hit broke the tie to
make all the Vallecas fans speechless. The bad news is about Zidane who had
to leave the pitch before halftime with some physical trouble. This triumph
puts an end to Madrid's bad streak on the road (they had not won since March),
but also puts the squad closer to Real Sociedad's top position in the
standings.
