2012 RED SOX DRAFT #024 Deven Marrero http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/prospects/watch/y2012/#list=draft Deven Marrero Rank: 14 Arizona St., Junior Height: 6'1", Weight: 175 Position: SS DOB: 08/25/1990 Bats: R, Throws: R Previous: '09, 17th (509), CIN http://0rz.tw/cIG1D Deven Marrero is one of those guys with unquestionable defense, but has a bat that will need some developing in order for him to make it to the majors. He has good instincts in the infield, with moderate speed that allows him to have good range at the position. He's a relatively safe pick with his defense only needing a bit more focus in avoiding silly errors, and his bat isn't far off. All he really needs to do is focus on pitch selection and improve his knowledge of the strikezone. He doesn't project to hit for much power as a pro, but is expected to hit for doubles and average with his line-drive swing that doesn't have much lift. In his past 3 seasons at Arizona State, he's hit .397, .319, and .279 respectively from his freshman year to his junior year. He generally has struck out 1/8th of his plate appearances, and walked only around 20 times each season in about 200 plate appearances. This year he has 11 doubles, 3 triples, and 4 homers in 208 at-bats. Floor: If his bat never comes around, he could end up like Wladimir Sutil who was in the Astros farm system last year; A guy with good defense, but not the bat to take him to the next level. Ceiling: At his peak, he could be a .300 hitter with 10-15 homers and gold-glove defense at SS. But probably profiles as an average SS with not a lot of power. Will he sign? As a Junior in college, there's a chance he could go back to play his senior year. But with 3 years under his belt already and a chance to go early in the first round, he'll most likely sign. 影片 http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?topic_id=29113154&content_id=19997815 =============================================================================== #031 Brian Johnson http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/prospects/watch/y2012/#list=draft Brian Johnson Rank: 36 Florida, Junior Height: 6'3", Weight: 225 Position: LHP DOB: 12/07/1990 Bats: L, Throws: L Previous: '09, 27th (817), LAD http://0rz.tw/dGxH6 Johnson is a two-way player who could be drafted as a first baseman with some pop but is much more widely seen as a left-handed pitcher. He's an off-speed guy who'll pitch with an average fastball at 88-92 and throws a lot of breaking balls, mostly an above-average big-breaking curve with a two-plane break and tight, visible rotation; he prefers it to his above-average changeup even in conventional changeup counts. The change at 80-84 is solid but not plus, coming out of his hand just like his fastball. He has a show-me slider that he'd be better off scrapping if it doesn't get better. He doesn't have life on his fastball, but commands it well to both sides of the plate. Johnson is very balanced over the rubber and all through his delivery, with a clean and fairly low-effort arm swing. He's a pretty high-probability, low-projection guy who should be in the middle of someone's rotation inside of two years, and could be in the majors in 12 months because minor league hitters won't do much with his off-speed stuff. 影片 http://www.mymlbdraft.com/2012/mlb-draft-profiles/Brian-Johnson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKzEOIls6lE&feature=player_embedded
=============================================================================== #037 Pat Light http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/prospects/watch/y2012/#list=draft Pat Light Rank: 54 Monmouth, Junior Height: 6'6", Weight: 215 Position: RHP DOB: 03/29/1991 Bats: R, Throws: R Previous: '09, 28th (852), MIN Pat Light’s sturdy, 6’6” frame draws attention by itself, and he saw his stock shoot up the charts when he touched 96 mph earlier this spring. However, the right-hander struggles to carry his velocity deep into games and often catches too much plate due to lack of movement. Light also features an above-average slider and changeup that are borderline show-me pitches at the moment and often ineffective due to a varying and inconsistent arm slot. Still, he’s shown improved command of each of his pitches this season, which aids his projection as a starter rather than a reliever. With an enormous but still projectable frame and plus fastball, it’s hard not to compare the right-hander to the Marlins’ Josh Johnson—though the comparison is less accurate when considering their respective secondary offerings. If Light progresses his way through the minors as a starter, he has the potential to make his debut in mid-to-late 2015. Pick Analysis: The Red Sox add a big body pitcher who has the frame to fill out. Fastball tops out in the mid-90s, with an impressive breaking ball to match. -- "HARD WORK BEATS TALENT WHEN TALENT FAILS TO WORK HARD." -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 140.114.209.10
