There was a collective exhale in the Red Sox clubhouse on Thursday afternoon
when it became clear that star slugger Manny Ramirez will likely not have to
join Jason Varitek, Trot Nixon, Alex Gonzalez and Tim Wakefield on the
disabled list.

Ramirez, who exited Wednesday's game in the bottom of the fourth inning with
right knee woes, had an MRI exam on Thursday morning, and the results were
negative
Ramirez在結束了禮拜三比賽的四局下半的時候,右膝蓋就有不舒服,在經過了MRI檢查,而
結果顯示出陰性的(在醫學檢查中就是沒有事的意思啦)

"Thankfully, the MRI came back and everything is structurally clean," said
Red Sox manager Terry Francona. "He does have some tendinitis in his patella,
which we kind of knew already. The MRI was read; it's going to get read again
before the game by Dr. [Lewis] Yocum. It's also been sent to [Red Sox medical
director] Tom Gill. I think we eliminated some structural things, which is
good. Now we'll just see how he feels."

Francona held Ramirez out of the lineup for Thursday's game and had Kevin
Youkilis batting cleanup and Wily Mo Pena in left field. Eric Hinske also got
a start in right field.
粉柯男把Manny移出星期二比賽的打線,並且補上Kevin Youkilis然後把Wily Mo Pena移防
到左外野.也把Eric Hinske拉到先發右外野

Would Francona rule out Ramirez playing this weekend in Seattle?
那粉柯男會讓Manny在週末對上西雅圖水手的比賽出賽嗎?

"I'm not ruling out anything," Francona said. "The first thing, I'm glad [the
MRI results] came back with nothing wrong structurally. The second thing is,
it hurt enough for him to come out of the game yesterday, so I can't imagine,
today, him feeling like 100 dollars. We'll see how it goes."

Ramirez has been in the news on a daily basis for the Red Sox since Monday,
when he left the game in the fifth inning with cramping in his right
hamstring. He was out of the lineup on Tuesday, but he pinch-hit in the ninth
inning. He returned to the lineup on Wednesday, albeit for just a few innings
before the knee acted up.
Manny在禮拜1比賽第5局因右膝蓋肌腱痙攣而提前離開,就已經變成紅襪相關新聞每天必
報的的消息.並且在禮拜二的比賽移出打線,但是在9局代打.禮拜三他回到了打線,儘管卻
也只有短短的幾局,在他膝傷發作之前

The Red Sox don't want to run the risk of bringing Ramirez back too soon and
exacerbate the injury
紅襪當局不想冒著危險讓Manny太快回來並帶著惡化的傷勢

"I don't think we have a timeframe," said Francona. "We'll have to listen to
him and [team trainer] Paul Lessard and the medical people and see where we
think he is. What it's going to probably come down to is I don't think
tendinitis goes away overnight. It's probably going to be what he can
tolerate."
