FROM THE STAR MAGAZINE: HOLLYWOOD WEIGHT WARS "Renee Zellweger, 34, is once again gaining kudos for gaining weight for a role --the title character in the as-yet-unfilmed sequel to Bridget Jones's Diary, The Edge of Reason. The five-foot-five Texas-born star successfully put on about twenty pounds for 2001's Bridget Jones's Diary. But after losing it -- and more -- she got flak for her too-thin figure. "Renee has a fear of gaining weight," a source close to the actress says. "I've literally seen her go 16 hours without eating. And she nearly always had a cup of coffee in each hand -- but it was only to keep her hands warm because she was cold from being so thin." "Being underweight lowers your metabolism and your body's ability to stay warm," explains Katherine Tallmadge, spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association. Are the Doritos helping her gain? "Yes," says Majid Ali, a Santa Monica, Calif., nutrition expert. "The body can only convert so much refined food before the rest of it is stored as fat." No doubt she'll shed that after filming, too. Here are some other A-listers that have been growing and shrinking. "It was hard for Renee to maintain a romantic relationship when she was skinny because dieting made her cranky," says a source close to her. But things seem rosy with Zellweger and boyfriend, White Stripes singer Jack White. "Now she can be a normal girl going out to dinner and having fun." Zellweger is packing on thirty pounds for the Bridget Jones's Diary sequel. How? "Doritos and Starbucks coffee," the actress says." -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 210.85.194.254
