Jim: Think of all the people who'd give anything for 70 bucks. (Anger overtakes her without warning) Mae: I've never told you not to fight! Jim: (Softly) Easy Mae: (Trying to calm down) You're not even healed up yet. Jim: Got to take 'em when they come. It's not like the old days. People don't have the money to buy tickets anymore. He hesitates then takes her hand. Instead of lacing her fingers through his, she holds his hand tenderly in her lap. Mae: It's broken, isn't it? Jim: Chipped a bone. Doesn't hurt.
