分別出自Kalevala IV 和 VII的章節。
少年Joukahainen不服世人推崇的智者Väinämöinen，離家前去挑戰，兩人經過
一番激辯與法術較勁，少年J落敗，身陷泥沼，為求生路，只好將妹妹Aino許給對
方作妻子。少年J悻然返家，母親得知這項承諾，認為是件好親事，但Aino卻不願
嫁給年邁的V老先生，哭著離家，之後不幸於海邊落水而死。
得知妹妹的死訊，少年J認為是V先生所迫，帶著弓箭前往尋仇，V先生自覺有愧，
避而不戰，但就在他策馬凌水走避時，馬匹中了少年的箭，V先生落海，隨水漂流
了數日夜。幸而遇上過去曾受過他恩惠的老鷹，問過遭遇後，讓V先生乘於鷹翅，
將他送至最近的土地Pohjola。
