這首歌是在歌頌1939年9/7～9/10德國開始入侵波蘭時在Wizna發生的守衛戰
當時約720名波蘭守軍面對42000的德國大軍壓境，奮勇抵抗
在僅有2支反裝甲步槍的情況下仍擊毀德軍10輛坦克及少量裝甲車
最後打到彈盡援絕，德軍坦克攻破防線，
上尉指揮官Wladylsaw Raginis命令部下棄械投降後自盡
總計此戰波蘭最後被俘約70人，其餘皆於此地殉國


波蘭國軍如果有莒光園地的話用這首歌當主題曲應該非常合適
