「我們知道你來繼承屬於你的財產……這棟宅邸
但聽我們的勸，今晚就回去吧
如果你不聽，十八將會變成九……噢！不！」
噢，十八便是九註
[註]惡魔數字9貫穿了整個故事。
主角LaFey夫婦的年紀分別是Jonathan LaFey（夫）27歲，
Miriam Natias （妻）18歲；相差9歲。
這兩個數字的個別加總（2+7、1+8）也分別為9。
「十八就是九」暗示Miriam已經懷了Abigail。
Jonathan laughed and said "Get out of My way"
"I don't believe a word You say"
The 7 horsemen disapeared into the night
and said "Someday You'll need our help my friend"
強納森大笑說，「閃開別擋路！」
「我才不相信你說的鬼話！」
七位騎士消失在夜色之中
並說，「有天你將會需要我們的協助，朋友。」
I think poor Jonathan was scared
我想可憐的強納森真的嚇到了
18 is actually 9...It stuck in his mind
十八實則為九……這話深深印在他腦海
