There is something about these Rockets that is starting to feel special.

這支火箭隊越來越特別了

Can you feel it?

你感覺到了嗎?

Oh, they have issues on the floor. Issues that, by all reason, should lead to
another early exit from the playoffs.

歐，他們在場上是有些問題，而且這些問題還有可能讓他們在季後賽提早放暑假。

But this team doesn’t seem to lean toward reason. They don’t accept
limitations and feel free defying logic.

不過這支隊伍才不管這些勒，他們不受侷限，而且違反邏輯。

You hate to wonder what will happen next to these Rockets, but they have
dealt well with everything that has happened to them this season. They don’t
just make do, they make do without.

你不會喜歡去猜說接下來會發生什麼事在他們身上，不過這季發生在他們身上的事，
他們都解決了。不管什麼狀況，他們都熬過來了。

They entered Wednesday night’s game against the Detroit Pistons missing
ano-ther key piece of the rotation. Carl Landry will miss up to three weeks
because of a gunshot wound suffered in a senseless act of violence early
Tuesday morning.

在今天對活塞的比賽，輪替中重要的一員--蘭蘭沒辦法上場。因為受到槍傷，所以他要
缺席一到三周。

Without Landry in the lineup, Shane Battier went rolling through the lane and
dunked lefthanded. Battier hadn’t touched the rim in six months. He did on
this night, perhaps subconsciously doing what Landry does.

蘭蘭沒有上場，反而是battier空切到籃下來個左手灌籃。他這六個月內都沒有碰到
籃框，不過今晚碰到了，大概是潛意識的做了蘭蘭會做的事吧。

It’s called taking up slack.

這就叫做隨機應變。

The Rockets eventually beat the Pistons 106-101 in double overtime. It’s a
game they should have won, but this team doesn’t always do what most think
it should do. There have been wins it shouldn’t have picked up and losses it
shouldn’t have suffered.

火箭最後終於在2OT以 106-101擊敗活塞。這本來就是一場該贏的比賽，不過他們總是
做一些不如預期的事。贏了不會贏的比賽，或是輸了不該輸的比賽。

In the Rockets’ previous game at New Orleans, Yao Ming was out with flu-like
symptoms. So Dikembe Mutombo played 24 minutes (more than he had totaled this
season), Landry was a loose-ball hound, and Von Wafer had the nerve to pass
the ball a few times (five assists).

前一場對黃蜂，姚明因為流感而沒有上場。老木代替他打了24分鐘(比他之前所有的上場
時間都要多)。蘭蘭跟Wafer也都表現的很好。

Almost every player on the roster has stepped up on some night to deliver.

幾乎在輪替名單的每個人，都會在不同的比賽中跳出來。


Team has matured

That’s what makes these Rockets such an interesting bunch. Most nights they
have not let adversity beat them.

這也是火箭這群人有趣的地方，大部分的比賽他們都沒有被困境打敗。

“My fourth season (2005-06), we had the same kinds of things — injuries,
people in and out —and we were totally losing that season, below .500 and
way behind in the playoff race,” Yao said. “This year we’ve had guys in
and out from the beginning of the season. From practice, day one, all the way
until now, people have come and gone. We’re still doing well.”

姚明說："我的第四年(2005-06)，同樣的事情一直發生--受傷。大家打打停停，那季
我們的勝率沒有過五成，也進不了季後賽。今年賽季初，我們又是一堆人打打停停，
到現在還是如此。不過我們還是表現的不錯。

One and a half games out of the No. 2 seed in the West well, that is.

在西區火箭只差第二名1.5場勝差。

Yao said there is a “no excuses allowed” attitude that makes this team
continue to get it done regardless of who is in or out of the lineup.

姚明說："能讓這支傷兵隊維持的原因，就是不管做什麼都不允許有藉口的態度"

“The best example is Von Wafer,” Yao said. “In the beginning of the season
he was nobody, sitting waaaay behind the bench. Now he’s getting very
consistent minutes, very consistent shots, scoring, and that’s how he
prepared for the season. That’s how he’s giving it to us.”

"最好的例子就是Wafer了，在賽季初，他只是個守開特力的主力，但是現在他得到了
穩定的上場時間，貢獻穩定的投射、得分，這就是他為這賽季做的準備，也是他
帶給我們的貢獻。"

Entering Wednesday’s game, the Rockets had lost 153 man-games to injury or
illness. In 2005-06, the team posted 274 lost man-games, forcing them to suit
up 22 players during the season.

這季目前為止，大家缺席的場次總共有153場，05-06年，大家加起來的缺席場次甚至
高達274場，迫使他們那季總共用了22個人。
(這段不是很確定...所以亂翻的....)

That team fell apart. This one continues to come together.

先前那支隊伍簡直分崩離析，不過今年的可不一樣了。

“Why is it so different for the two teams? One difference is we have grown,”
 Yao said. “We’re not 24, 25 years old anymore. We know that time is
running out for our career for a lot of guys on the team. We have to fight
and do our best now. That we believe.”

姚明說:"這兩支隊伍不同在哪? 不同在我們長大了。我們不再是24, 25歲了，現在的我們
知道隊上很多的老將都快退休了，所以我們得戰鬥而且盡我們所能的去做到最好。

You can’t find a much more stable locker room than the Rockets now have.
While the effect of that is impossible to measure, we know it makes a
difference. Panic has never set in because the team’s veterans won’t allow
it to.

現在的火箭隊休息室比以往都要來的和諧，而這所帶來的影響是無法衡量的。
恐慌不會再入侵他們的休息室了，因為老將們是不會允許的!


Yao is quite the leader and not as quiet as you think. Mutombo is a vocal
veteran who polices things from his corner office. Battier, Chuck Hayes and
Brent Barry are the epitome of professionalism.

姚明是現在的老大，而且他也沒有我們想像的那麼安靜。老木則是用他的聲音在維持著
秩序。八爺和海爺還有Barry則是專業的象徵。


A lesson in chemistry


The young players — Aaron Brooks and Wafer — listen and learn and speak
when spoken to.

年輕的球員--小AB和Wafer，則是邊聽邊學，且在被提及的時候出來發言。

New faces like Kyle Lowry and James White came into a peaceful scene, and
both have mentioned the quality of the atmosphere they have seen at Toyota
Center.

新成員可愛的羅莉以及白先生，則是都有提起Toyota center的良好氣氛。

Don’t mistake that calm for a lack of fire. It seems Ron Artest could
convince his teammates to jump off a bridge with him, and that’s a good
thing because Artest is nothing if not confident he can lead a team to
victory every night.

不要誤會這個平靜是缺乏戰鬥力。阿泰可是會說服他的隊友跟他一起拼命，而對於
他有自信能帶領球隊贏球就是阿泰最大的優點!

Yep, there just seems to be something about these Rockets.

沒錯，現在的火箭隊看起來是有些什麼。

“This is about something united,” Yao said.

姚明說:"我們有的是團結。"
