‧ Career highlights: Chacon's 8-1 record against National League West teams
was the best winning percentage of any pitcher against
his own division last season . . . His 11 wins before
the All-Star break was a Rockies record . . . Selected
to National League All-Star team in 2003, joining Mike
Hampton (2001) as only Rockies pitchers to be picked ..
Has 14-12 record and 5.28 lifetime earned-run average
at Coors Field.
‧ Personal: Chacon was the first player ever drafted by the Rockies directly
out of a Colorado high school . . . Still lives in Greeley, and
has two sons, Andre and Taten . . . Turned down scholarship to
Arizona State to sign with Rockies . . . Jersey was retired at
Greeley Central in January of 2002, only the second athlete to
be honored at the school in its 123-year history.
